tbh they dont make money from releasing songs, so basically all of their money comes from djing |
Clearly DJs like Steve Angello and Pauley D don't make enough for their hard work and devotion to the music. |

HAHAHA I just watched the video again, and all the pyrotechnics happen on his encore. Which starts around 9:40. He doesn't even press play to the last song. His encore is being played from somewhere else. He gets on the mic and says LET'S GO... than nothing happens, and says LET'S GO again. The lights dim, and the song starts. He was nowhere near the CDJ's when the song started! The mixed CD was on way before this!!! It's pretty obvious when he played Daft Punk.

I think DJ's get paid way too much for what they do. |
It is all about supply and demand, right?
A no-name DJ who has practiced moderately for a year wouldn't be that much worse than a big-name DJ/producer who has been DJing and making music for a living for a decade. For many patrons, the song selection of the no-name might be more preferable.
But people are willing to pay a lot of money to be in the presence of "greatness." |

LET ONLY BLIND PEOPLE VOTE...
they wont know who they are there to HEAR(as opposed to see)
Take blind edm fans drop them off at random shows to listen to the sets, and have them rank their top 5 shows of the year.
if it was practical, this is the best way.
given the swedish house mafia tracklist from halloween vegas, tell me that one of the TA bedroom DJ's couldnt make just as good of a set... |

It depends on your definition of a DJ.
If your definition does not include crowd interaction or reading crowds to gauge what tracks would work well at that moment, then a blind taste test is best. |

To those who say it takes manual beat matching to be a DJ, I say this.
You can start a fire using two sticks rubbed together. But let me tell you, I'll use a lighter any day and beat you in starting fires 100% of the time. |
