I think so yeah.
It's funny tho, they book crappy gigs and have them play out, but once they have somewhat of a genius booking that's not retarded top 20 house and they manage to it up !
Least I'm happy that drama didn't take place on friday while I was driving towards montreal, that would have ing pissed me off ! |

ya but... they probably just moved it cuz they werent gonna fill metropolis. It's simple business no? Maybe if they cancelled it'd I'd agree but it's just gonna get moved to a medium sized venue instead of a huge ass one like Metropolis
if it was my business i'd do the same |

What is Metropolis capacity? but when they agree Metropolis, even if it's not going to get packed, strange that they can cancel two days before there...
do you have ideas what could be a medium size event? hope they make it at circus... |

yeah, that happened almost to the day a year ago, I was halfway to Montreal when that happened :p :whip: but that is small potatoes compared to anyone who had to book hotel, time off work, etc.
looks like they underestimated Cox at Stereo and overestimated this gig.
One venue too small the other one too large.
Metropolis is about 2,000 capacity. |

i completely agree with you. what is metropolis' capacity anyway? 2-3K?
there were like 3 facebook event pages for this. the one created by metropolis doesn't allow the public to see how many are "attending". for the other 2 event pages, both had less than 200 people attending. that sucks.
i'm not saying facebook is THE way to tell how packed your event will be, but it is a very good indicator. i've heard through the grapevine that this event sold less than 1000 pre-sale tickets...which is horrible! and i can't figure out why exactly...it's ing luciano and carl craig for sakes. you'd think they would pull. maybe it's because of tempting afterparties (ricardo), private halloween parties (organized by friends)?
i know for myself, personally...i decided not to go to carl vs. luciano because 1) i've seen them, 2) i hate metropolis and 3) i'd much rather save my energy for ing ricardo.
i wonder where it'll be moved, if it's not cancelled. |

there's so many hypotheses as to why this can happen. i don't know for sure in this case but...payment issues comes to mind. if you haven't sold enough tickets, the event organizer can't pay the venue or deposits for artists, thus allowing metropolis to cancel?
i dunno anything for sure, but it's a possibility. |
