Sorry Mary, but if.you guys wouldn't cancel halff the events you Announce people would ing buy their tickets ahead of time.
As far as competition, you guys have the tendency to throw events when other people have announced stuff. So playing the victim doesn't really work that much.

Trop facile d'insulter les gens quand tu es un gérant d'estrade et pas dans les bureaux. I'm not playing victime at all, just saying what's what. =Not enough tickets = transfer or no show, it's business, ask agents or producers. 3/4 of the people knows me here and I never talk .

Half the shows cancelled...I don't think so...3 events cancelled last year (it was back to back and very sad for us, a low point that we had to live with even if we worked our ass off) and 2 transfered in 7 years on around 300 events. In the last month we had 7 great events.

That's all the time I'm gonna give you because I know you love drama ;) Not worth it.

Their events blow soo much it's not even funny. Back to back Halloween parties they're canceling. Last year was Carl Cox, now it's this event. When they booked Sasha @ Redlite it was a mockery for the dj ( THANK YOU STEREO FOR BOOKING HIM, much love ). This idea of selling tickets ahead of time, with a more-less hefty price tagg and cancelling all the time fails.

how much are tix again?

it's too bad DDs doesn't work for another company, she seems alright and works hard :(

I forgot about the DDs, lol!!! we all work hard in our office, but sometimes we have to deal with complete idiots and a lot of non-sense in Montreal.

you must be talking about your bosses... and Krinker's not from Montreal :p

lol my friend made me laugh w this comment:

<< yea.. two halloweens in a row we get screwed out of a "carl" >>

hahahaha

in all honesty i completely understand where Playground is coming from. Ya I'm sure some people are mad but I mean come on if you don't sell enough tickets what do you wanna do?! Lose your shirt? that

I just keep thinking about what Louis said when the whole DJmag thing got discussed. The scene is changing... FAST... guys like C2 and Luciano were the apex of underground dance music and now they cant even sell out a venue like Metropolis.

Imagine putting Afrojack in Metropolis for Halloween? Instant sell out. Everything is changing.

I disagree. I think the younger people have not been convinced that this is a cool thing to do. The media, on the other hand, does its job in telling the kids that going to see Skrillex, Afrojack, Deadmau5 and Guetta is a cool thing to do. Lucianwho?
Marcus007
yes but this influences the scene no?

i'm talking about the machine as a whole... the dance music world in montreal.
Adam420
Deadhau5 et al attract a lot of non-EDM fans. MTL's EDM scene is pretty big and diverse, but it's a tight community as well. If you're putting on an event for them, I think you have to take a more personal approach with the promoting.
Enjoy

I'm glad i chose the right party.:P

this sucks though....let's be honest though the promotion for the metropolis event was lacking as usual. The Scareo stuff was everywhere. Don't blame the people for not buying tickets ever....the booking itself is never enough in terms of hype.
