Nothing like carrying on tired, outmoded family traditions, with little consideration or compassion for the fact that despite best efforts and intentions, not everyone catches the same breaks in life, huh?

Sure pops is proud you turned out just like him.

I'm being tongue in cheek, obviously.
I'm actually unemployed and actively looking for work right now. I'm pretty nervous about it too, given how precarious the job market is looking. HOWEVER, not once did it occur to me to give up time I could spend job hunting and go down to the park and protest that other people have more than I do. That is partly why this movement doesn't get a whole lot of my attention. You want a bigger slice of the pie, guys? Go to work, or get behind a computer and at least try to.

Of course. I'm not a super hippy but neither am I ridiculously conservative.

I can understand if people do that in the states especially if they got the shaft from the subprime mtg crisis but up here as far as I understand it there are a lot more regulations in place to prevent that.

You cannot evict an idea whose time has come. This movement is far bigger then just St. James park.

It's not a movement. Movement implies a shift in the social paradigm powered by principle and ethos.

Its a sensation. Sensation implies an increase in attention powered by media and novelty.

"The revolution will not be televised..."

Occupy on the other hand is an MTV prime time special.

People will still pay whatever the companies ask for the products. Those are the reasons why their profits are still soaring high and people are in overdraft. Electronics are such quality and they still charge insane prices for stuff that only lasts a few years if your lucky.

No they wont. Lets take internet as an example (because Rogers is a good example of making a profit all the time or almost all the time). You will probably pay $60 bux for internet. Would you pay $100? probably but you wouldnt like it.$200? most likely not.
Same thing with TVs at some point if you think the price is too high then maybe its best not to own a TV (btw prices for electronics have been dropping steadily since they started making them).

Now if the company decides to gouge the customers and they are still buying the product then either they have the cash in which case this does not concern them, or they shouldn't be owning that product and maybe they should check for an alternative (whether it be not owning a product or getting a lesser name brand)

The financial system is just fine. Its people who can't control their own financial system that are the problem.

Do you see everything in such stark black/white?
