And yes we were all noobs at one point. That doesn't mean i can't have the opinion that people are suckers for paying 100$+ for a 2 hour DJ set. I never mentioned anything about trance sucking or anything like that, if people like that stuff thats fine. I never bashed the dude for going to an armin show. I just said at that price tag that you're a bit of a sucker, that's it. you clearly don't like that im stating MY opinion and so you resorted to talking on me rather then actually keep the conversation on topic. big up

Not everyone can appreciate fine dining man, some people just stick to Montanas.

Right on. I got a lot of positive feedback on the mix I put together, and I love it myself. It's what I'm into, and I don't feel embarrassed at all lol. The fact that you know what's on the Beatport tech-house top 100 and I've never even checked is funny though. I know a lot of people care for the sound you're into more than I am and that's cool, it just puts me to sleep. Maybe if I heard it in a different environment I'd get into it more. Context makes a big difference imo.

i don't know what's in the charts and i certainly don't pay attention to it....maybe only the vinyl charts on decks.de...haha. i just know your sound was generic and showed you don't dig too deep. quite simple man.. takes one second to hear. And i would have never brought it up if it wasn't for your comment, i don't actually give a what you like or don't like but you kinda initiated me to bring out my opinion. i don't make negative comments out of nowhere about people's music even if i loath it. and you can judge what i play or what im into from one set all you like.. that's fine but not very accurate. anyway it just kinda annoyed me you taking this argument there when you could've just stayed on topic ... but i guess that was off topic too.

i doubt they would even do such a short set all together...thats like what 5-6 tracks each?..but hypothetically speaking, probably not. maybe in Ibiza or something i would but then again they'd probably play for 6+ hours...i've never paid even half of that for a DJ set.....haha i mean maybe i would for the right party but i don't know.

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous what we pay out in Western Canada. I caught on pretty quickly and everytime I know I wanna go check out an event, I almost always pounce on the early bird tickets but even those are way too expensive.

I'm not saying I haven't had fun at these events though. Some nights, I'll walk out and say "yeah that $100 or so was well worth it" because the experience can be just amazing. But those nights have been far and few in between unfortunately. I only plan to go to two events this year in Vancouver and both are in April. Gonna get to see Markus next week where he'll probly be only allowed to play a 2.5hr set at most. I say "allowed" because if the man wanted to, he would keep on going however the Vancouver nightclub will shut it down once the alcohol serving is shut down. Thats probably one of the main reason's why partying in Vancouver sucks. I guess at the end of the day it's all about the dollars & cents so I can't say much. (Or can I lol?)

The rest I am saving my funds up for 10 nights in Ibiza later this summer. I said to myself last year to it, stop going to these parties in Western Canada where I know a) the DJ will play a 2 hour set at best (and it sucks even more when they dumb down their sets for the Canadian crowd) b) Most likely gonna get ripped off and c) the crowd is gonna be full of ed hardy's/candy kids.

I can't believe Stereo tweeted back at Markus saying he can go as long as he wants to. That's just amazing, man would I love to be there! I'll have to live the night through your guys' stories and pictures ;)

Well jeepers you sure are putting a lot of effort into showing me how little you care about my opinion dood. All of those tunes I put together are from my favorite producers, and it I logged quite a bit of time digging for them, but honestly that doesn't even matter. Whether you spend 5 minutes or 5 years putting tracks together doesn't mean doo-doo in my eyes... it's all about end product and how happy you are with what HEY LOOK, A SQUIRRELL!! Oops, sorry, went off topic, where was I? Oh yeah, it's all about the sound that comes out in the end in my book. If I end up catching one of your sets I'll be happy to approach it with open ears (as I always do). It's just nice to know that Stereo lowered the lights in the back so I can catch some shut-eye just in case.

I'm loving this thread. Everyone's an expert critic with a well-refined opinion.
DJs these days... You guys never get along, all you do is cut each other down and then wonder why you're playing other people's music to a crowd of 8 people that don't even want to be there in the first place. So much talent on these message boards going to waste on negative . Instead of trying to come up with ways to prove each other wrong why don't you guys make some music. The only irrefutable, inarguable opinion is a well produced record.

edit...nvm
