all of them. The earlier ones were probably the least offensive.

Showing you that electronic melodies can make it into a band's song still and be popular, of course. Of course the trick is making VGM melodies into a song and have it sound as good, which I'm sure is possible with a competent composer.
When you think of VGM, don't just think of spazzy Hi-NRG style music. This can definitely be done

yes, they have been making their way into popular tracks since like the first moog. So you are about 40 years late. Sorry dude. I just don't get what you are asking. I mean it seems like you are asking a similar question like, man does anyone have any ideas on how one would like use the wheel , and like somehow use a system that turns those wheels with some sort of motor. Yes, they are called cars and they have been aroudn a very very long time. I'm a little confused. I still don't see how video games has anything to do with your idea.

lol wat. Synthpop has only recently seen a resurgence, and even during the Moog and what have you era, bands like Kraftwerk were relatively unpopular, but that's besides the point. The point is that it's popular again, so a song with SNES melody would oddly still sound modern. Your wheel analogy would be sound if wheels have been out of favor since the 1980s, and only recently have they been in favor then. But not only that, you'd need to replace that's like a wheel (video game music style music replacing synths)

Though besides that controversy, I don't really care for that song. The original instrumental is baller, but the Timbaland song sounds decent I suppose, but compared to what I'm thinking of, his song sounds totally tacked on as an afterthought.
Rather, I'm thinking of a prominent riff or melody or whatever that the song revolves around, created by a popular video game composer.
I should note that the most chiptune sounding songs by bands like crystal castles and the like still haven't made a song that I'm thinking of. Do you know what I mean?

video game music doesn't have a style. It is music in a video game. Jesus. And all those bands you mentioned, they are using normal synths, not SNES or what ever the hell emu you think they are using. I don't understa d the point of this thread. It has been done. So if you want to do it, ing do it. But shut up about talking about doing something that has been done before. Do you really need approval ?

Style in how it sounds
Listen to any video game soundtrack on the SNES and tell me that it doesn't sound any different from synth pop.

that was one console. Just do it if you think that is a good idea. I personally think it is retarded. It sounds stupid in dance, it will sound even more dumb in pop.
