What is their Saturday party gonna look like? I'm guessing more cheesy DJs?

Thank god S&B are involved. Wish I could make it tomorrow. It's gonna be quite a scene to see "dark" djs like dubfire spin in such a glitzy room. However, the production there seems very good. I think they'll have the flexibility to make that room seem like heaven or hell (in a good, dubfire way).

Of course you know about Marquee, but you probably don't know some of the crazier things that've happened there over the years (they involve Diddy and the Olympic torch) -- things that will hopefully happen all the more amidst its redesign that makes it look like you're partying inside a giant robot spaceship.

The biggest change is that the sound system is now "music festival quality". Here's the DJ booth -- they've also got a separate one for the non-Jesse Camp VJ, and another for the LD (lighting director), who can move the ceiling and giant disco ball up and down at a whim.

They do it with this, naturally.

A new wall is made entirely of belts. Marquee owner: "One time [at the old DJ booth that used to be there] Stevie Wonder got up and sang happy birthday to his daughter, completely unrehearsed and a cappella."

Upstairs has been changed around to feature more of a stadium seating layout, but right here is where the "owner's table" was. One night its guest was Patrick Swayze, who got up and did "the move" [ed note: crane-kick motion] and the whole joint went nuts. Except for Ben Gazzara.

After his leg of running with the Olympic torch, Diddy hung out in this corner (now stacked with a ton of books designed to look like an equalizer), then just went and lit that torch. And then presumably was never able to put it out.

The new upstairs bar. Diddy hasn't lit anything here on fire. Yet.

It's called the Red Room now, but before it was the "Boombox". Accessed by a private entrance with its own parking lot (Tony Hawk did some kickflips in it once), it used to hold the likes of Matt Damon, Mick Jagger, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jermaine Dupri, Mark Wahlberg (of Wahlburgers), and Jack Nicholson all at one time.

To make your own crazy story that will likely not include founders of famous burger chains, they've given you more space to dance, new cocktails, and a $100K bottle of champagne.

I def dig the interior, lcd/leds etc.

the space looks like one of the best 'productions' i've seen in the city for an inside space, but that middle of the floor VIP area with those couches are gonna EAT SPACE, hope they get pulled out. Visually you've got me interested
