You do it on a daily basis on here; I find it hard to believe that when you are out in clubs or whatever, if you overhear a conversation that you disagree with, you just walk right over and voice your opinion as you do here.

Thats the whole point of a message board though. And the point of this thread isnt to bash James Holden personally so yes I am going to defend him to some degree because I personally enjoy both his old and new work. I dont want to alienate people on here and im sorry if I have already done that. I am definitely hot headed every once in a while.

This thread is total chaos.

I ing love the internet :D

The point of the bar metaphor was not to suggest that this forum works exactly like a real social situation, but rather to highlight the paradox of someone repeatedly replying to posts on a subject insisting he doesn't care about that subject.

I would frankly love to have this debate with James Holden. I would probably pay for the opportunity.

The real question here is, how difficult would it be to submit Holden with an MMA styled arm-bar?

I actually agree with you Woony. I don't think that sample was that terrible. Is it what I would choose to listen to driving around in my car? Probably not, but listening to it you can hear something more than just noise.

I'd pay to be a fly on the wall during that conversation :D

Too bad Nathan Fake took after Holden as well.

I'm generally not that much a fan of Holden's more recent stuff, but within that track's messy and distorted synths there's a sense of melancholy that really resonates with me.

Started off ok then WTF happened?

No, it's definitely because he's an obnoxious self-obsessed prick who constantly feels the need to validate his own music by ting on the work of others. Are you really so blinded by helpless fanboy love that you can't see why people find that behaviour intolerable?

Who has he criticised before? I mean other producers.

This interview here pretty much sums up it all up for me. "We just wanted to follow what we were interested in" "Rather than trying to be trendy or popular". Its a shame he doesnt play in the U.S. more often.. Apparently I just missed him.

That sort of stuff is as boring as the I just heard from james zabiela.

Opposite opinion here, I think the track gets better progressively, building and building.

I don't know how anyone can find distorted noise that's pleasurable to the ears?
