I didn't understand how anyone could like house when I started listening to trance.

That holden track isn't very noisy at all. It's got some distorted synths but they still end up being melodic. Go listen to some Merzbow.

And since when does music have to be pleasurable? Just like not all art is aesthetically pleasing, some people like to explore sounds beyond the traditional spectrum of what's pleasurable to the ears.

whats weird is that something can be pleasurable to one person and highly irritating to another. Just this pass weekend I was playing Artificial Intelligence cd in my car driving with my gf and she couldnt stand hearing it as it hurt her ears. I was flabbergasted. Something about the "high pitched sounds" as she said was irritating.

I've seen the interviews over the years and out of all of the people that I respect in the dance music scene, he's probably the last one I'd have any desire to chill with or talk to at a party.

:haha:

The real question here is, how difficult would it be to submit Holden with an MMA styled arm-bar?

Punch to the nose would be quicker. You can't miss.

Im really enjoying his RA podcast!!!! James calls it the "companion piece" for his upcoming album. For anyone that has not yet listened here it is:

Well yeah, because it has James Holden's name on it.

I don't venture to this side of TA much, just stick to the Florida and NYC boards.

But I have to say this. You guys are ing dorks. DOOMBOT was right, none of you would talk any of this crap to James Holden or anyone else in a face to face situation. If you don't like the music, fine, don't listen to it? Don't understand why every piece of music and artist has to be criticized so severely. Focus on the music that you do like and don't worry about the rest. But I digress. Now I remember why I never come over here.
