I'd read a book about trance by System J, for sure. He could at least write about the Dutch-and-beyond era without being condescending.

I seriously doubt that. Reviewing Anjunabeats mixes turned him incredibly sour to that whole scene. :p

| The Kaleidoscope review is still one of the best piece about music I've ever read. The recommended tracks part was just the icing on the cake :stongue: |

This is possible, but can you elaborate on why that year specifically? Sec 2.3 refers to 1999, but not specifically that year.

Christian..agreed, the book elaborates on that fact. There seems to be some negativity brewing.
The book is a general overview written for educators, libraries, institutions etc., and the general public to give a true and accurate historical timeline of the term "trance music". We are a group of adults now educating students on the EDM scene, not here to create genre wars.
It wasn't intended to aggravate trance followers. In fact if System J claims he is a qualified historian, then we may have an opportunity for him to get his voice heard, and make money at the same time. If anyone has any objections to the statements in the book, we only ask that you explain why, and cite a reference or your own explanation to back up your claim. Simply saying "the book is a joke", or "the book sucks", and "its not true", means very little if you can't back up exact errors, and allow those errors to be discussed by both angles.
Santiago will log in here next week, and if anyone wants to pick his brain, feel free.
