and it was for me when I was 12/13 years old, no B/S. Back when CD players were relevant, I burned that track and put that joint on replay.

How about Tiesto's Unreleased Mix of Southern Sun which only him and Oakenfold had. It sure blows the commercial release away. Lyrics were very dark and were later changed.

Track starts @3hr7min

Here's a funny old TA thread explaining the differences.

I remember when Tiesto was regarded as the best remixer in the game. Everyone salivated over his remixes in the early 2000's. Whether if he had ghostwriters or not is irrelevant because it was all under DJ Tiesto :D

Oh yeah for sure. He did have ghostwriters for the majority of his albums/remixes like Cor Fijneman and Geert Huinink but still had a lot of input...just not studio saavy. He stopped doing remixes around '04 when he did he Gelredome Concert and he was collaborating with euro and american pop vocalists and the rest is history. Anyone can discover the truth on discogs or looking at the record label that it wasn't 100% him but you can't just single him out, lots of people did it then and still today.

Silence was great at the time but I don't find myself going back to it. I do like Sarah McLachlan - Sweet Surrender (DJ Tiesto Remix) Very dark tune and love the atmosphere.

Flesh as well, another dark vocal trancer (love that part @3:39)

and to whoever mentioned tiesto's early remix work . those summerbreeze mixes were massive

Syntonic
Man, that Summerbreeze compilation was the . Gonna dig around for it later.

I can't believe I forgot about this one:

One of my top DJ Tiesto remixes, very soulful and warm sounding.

Delerium debuted in the 80's and Tiesto's remix single handedly put them on the map.

Vector A
^ The fact that they had collaborated with Sarah McLachlan (whose albums were selling millions of copies at the time) on the track should be a huge clue that they were already "on the map" long before Tiesto got to them, lol.

that's simply not true lol. the original slow tempo song didn't achieve squat outside of canada until Oakenfold started playing the fade mix in '99. However, it was the 'new' remixes in 2000 (featuring Tiesto's mix) that helped Delerium chart the lists around the world. All the attention was given to Tiesto's mix, and it's still the same case 13 years later.
