It's not about conforming, it's about them dressing in a way that is widely known to be the way that "thugs" dress. They see it in rap videos with black men toting guns and wads of cash with girls all around. That type of dress is associated with crime. It'd be like saying there's nothing wrong with walking down a black neighborhood in a Klan uniform and then blaming a black person for confronting them.

Uh, I wasn't advocating that everybody where identical clothes, I was saying that you can't dress in a way that's extremely widely perceived in a negative manner and then cry about profiling.
If anything, he was "conforming" to the stereotype of a black gangsta. |
