Serious lineup... Gets me all horny for phase two. Cox in the bowl answers my prayers. It's been too long (2009) and that stage/festival is tailor made for him.
I'd like to see "live" next to Simian Disco. Liebing tore it up a few years ago. Octave One and Project 313 would be great underground. And, holy techno - Speedy J w/Lucy!!!
Hoping Dixon shows up at an afterparty.
As always, luv all the detroit flav. |

This is a truly disgusting phase one. Wow. All my favorite Detroit boys (DTM, Hawtin, Mills, Huckaby, Pullen, T.Dixon, Larkin, C.Craig) + Loco Dice + Carl Cox + Adam X = holy sheeeit. They could not announce anyone else and I'd be happy with the lineup. Well if it was 2 days I guess, not enough there for 3 days, ha.
Who does everyone want to see for Phase 2?
Me? Aril Brikha (his 2011 Detroit stage set was sublime, wanna catch it again), Luigi Madonna (huge fan of his productions and the few sets/podcasts out there are sickkk), Sian (same situation as Luigi), Advent + Industrialyzer, Claude VonStroke, and finally Cari Lekebusch.
Give me 3 of those 6 and it'll officially be the greatest tech festival ever, why, cause I said so.
I love that this thing's a showcase for Detroit techno. Didn't know much about that side of things before I went for the first time several years ago and after experiencing that weekend, it's like there's an "understanding" of that sound and what it means to not just the scene, but Detroit and those people in particular. You don't get this anywhere else. WMC, Amsterdam, etc just doesn't have that deep, connected vibe with the music the way Detroit does with that weekend. |

Elysium is gone!! was the most perfect club ever for dark, banging techno. It sucks ass but yeah it's closed. At least according to google. |

i had no idea and thanks for letting me know.
that was truly one of the best venues i attended while i was at detroit. too bad!
i hope detroit going bankrupt wont have a negative impact on the amount of afterparty venues... |

expecting to see carola in phase 2 or 3. would also like maceo to come back and play another maetrik set. and of course, diggers.
i'm not really coming to this for names, moreso for the event itself so i'll be happy with whatever.
(..just saying that because they booked dixon :)). |

| hey guys thought i would post this question in here since it seems to be the most active one, i am plan on going to demf this upcoming year, its going to be my first time to a major festival i did the calculations and everything including round trip flight plus hotel and a vip ticket will cost me roughly 1355 dollars, not going to include the spending money, just want to know if its really worth it going to this festival alone, and how are all the sights and sounds around detroit for that matter? i am more than stoked for the acts, but just trying to justify the cost as i never took a big leap like this before. |

Sights around Detroit? The only "sight" is that the entire city looks like it was hit by a zombie outbreak.
The festival is incredible. I drove 14 hours for it, many on this board did the same. It truly is something you have to do once in your life at least. If you have the money, go for it. You will not regret it. |

hadn't really considered this (with travels being +1 or +2 days alone), but with this, hmm?
Question:
cheap drinks in VIP are meaningless if you dont drink anyway. What other reasons to buy VIP?
no perks on their site.
Is the extra space so indispensable?
(bad comparison, but at EZoo, for ex. what was the point of VIP if you only ever did the tents, esp. SS, anyway?)
just looking at it from that view.
vh, did see your comment, extra set is nice, but is that worth the additional $120?
otoh, seems like everyone here is VIPing...
interesting form of peer pressure.
(I've just never regretted not upgrading, is all, cause that money always seemed better spent on more events, of which I do way too much anyhow)

I like ruin porn, might be worth an extended cab ride to see first hand. Are those things bulletproof?

bad traffic?
even Chicago can be done under 13, this is only about 630mi, so 9, cert. 10 is doable. just wondering.
(took 16h once, but that was during the blizzard Dec. '07....) |
