Yea, I get it. I know all about the city's downward economic spiral and history.

I had a moment of selfishness :o

I might be doing Movement this year. At least I'm really hoping too. I should know by mid-March. I know Chillen is 100% going and I heard UCF hasn't bought his tix yet so there's that.

Yea, I've talked to them both about it.

I have my ticket but I'm still not 110 percent. Waiting to finalize my Euro trip before I go all in.

I'm pretty set on going, though. Was hoping to get SOME kind of discount on the rooms.
Never got that email :whip:

I don't think Chillen has got a room yet and like I said once I know by mid march I can commit as well. Maybe we can all room together.

Phase 3 dropped today

Artists by Day
http://www.movement.us/artists

Thought they wouldve dropped a few more Heavy Hitters but still some nice additions. Nothing wrong with new sounds since im not familiar with a few of these names. Still no complaints from me with the already stacked lineup..Nice split between the 3 days as well.

Need to announce more after parties tho..Im ready to go :D

Last year, Movement was my opportunity to see a ton of mid-level artists I had never seen before.

I know they need bigger names to sell tickets, but I'd much rather see 25 mid-level guys than a couple of big names. Plus, Hart Plaza is not enormous. It does get crowded when the headliners go on.

They have the past three #1 RA DJs... what more do you want?? :p

pfff, yeah like, Seth Troxler, who the is that guy?

Also I'm in need of a room. Doesn't have to be 5 stars but I'm not looking for a floor or couch spot either.

$1300+?? WTF! lol for a trip to detroit, that's just unheard of. unless, you're flying business class and staying in the presidential suite at the ren cen (the marriot right across the street from the festival). But, just to put things into prespective, from all the years that i've gone, i don't think i've ever spent more than $800-900 tbh. and half of that came from airfare and hotel.
idk if you plan to come alone or with some friends but if alone or a friend, you can always link up with someone on here that has space available in their hotel- there's always people looking for those who need rooms last minute.
now, i find detroit to be a beautiful broken down city. there's isn't "much" to see but it's rich with history and the buildings each tell a story of their own. i'm sure you've heard how bad it can be and whatnot but honestly i've walked the streets wayyy late at night from a club back to the hotel and never had an issue or run into any problems- i guess you can call me lucky. but the people from there are sooo warm, loving and inviting.. i really enjoy being around them.
anyways, it's really not that expensive to go out and eat- there really aren't that many areas other than greektown. something i've always wanted to do though that i haven't is attend a baseball game- i'm pretty sure that would be a blast, since the stadium is literally right there as well.
so yea, check to see where you're spending a lot and see how you can cut that down. cheers!
might be where I'm flying in from but I did a lot of research before I made the purchase including reading tons of hotel horror stories finally settled with the inn on ferry st not sure how far that is from the plaza but it does offer a shuttle also bought a VIP ticket and passed on the hotel package as it was still out of my budget. Now I just got to figure out transportation from the airport, and thanks for the tips.

if anyone is still looking for a ticket... may have a VIP ticket for sale!

well, as an instagram contest winner, seems like I'll be going afterall :)

so, with the AP's well out now and the clock ticking, what have you guys worked up for MDW...

Fri:
Arriving sometime in the afternoon and gonna chill/explore around for a bit, take some pics or whatever. As the day dwindles down, I'll make my way over to Bookies to kick things off. After that, who knows.. can't make up my mind btwn:
- Ghostly 15 (Dear, Adult, and check out the rest whom I'm not familiar with)
- Vibes (Glenn underground, Terrence Dixon)
- Deeplabs & Black Catalogue (Radio slave, monty luke, and luke hess).. this is probably what i'm leaning more towards.

Sat:
- Deep Detroit 6 (mike huckaby, kai alice & jay daniel)
or might stop by Soul Clap jam.. surprisingly, it's quite a decent lineup.

Sun:
- Flying Circus.. only night I've fully committed to at this point and already got tix for.

Mon:
Moring, Old Miami. Then later in the afternoon I'm gonna hit up the Tigers/Rangers baseball game @ 1pm. Chill and check out the stadium for an hr or two and head over to the festival grounds- excited about this, been wanting to do it for the longest.
Night, closing party, I suppose, @ TV lounge- gotta make sure I end up here at least once.

Tues: Slows BBQ!!!
