Tonight is grand opening to the public, clubs always do a soft/media launch before hand

That's what I figured, just wondering when that was, or what they did?

I love how Coda is right next to Bathurst station. Makes life so much easier for a lot of people.

+1
Getting there is so cheap/easy and getting home is better too (bloor bus runs much more frequently than the queen street car)

Best club I've ever been to in Toronto. If tonight is an indication of what's to come, this city has a bright bright future.

Great setup with a solid dance floor; such full, beautiful sound and far from overwhelmingly loud--no earplugs necessary; well-lit and brighter than any other club I can think of: you get to see people's faces, which I think is nice; cool blue LED lights on the ceiling with small red spotlights throughout; bathroom was pretty nice; coat check quick; no need to wait in line with a ticket. They sold a perfect amount of tickets: the place was full but there was room to dance. And the vibe was so peaceful, so friendly. I didn't notice any pushing at all. The vibe seemed to be verging on a Burner/Zen-like feel, but perhaps that's just my perspective? Tonight at Coda was a spiritual experience. And the MUSIC!! We showed up at 1:00am thinking that's when Art Department would come on, but to our fortune, Ame seemed to just be getting started. Holy balls, he played an amazing set! And then Johnny and Kenny came on and delivered with the wondrous brilliance that they always do. Pure musical magic.

Prior to going, I trusted that Johnny and the Footwork team would include everything needed for a club, and their attention to detail is going to pay dividends. I imagine they'll get a a fan or air conditioning system in there soon, since it was toasty even in a tank top. But hey, dancing and pouring sweat is a great experience, so even without the fans, I give this inaugural session a 10/10.

Thank you Art Department, Ame and Coda :)

I'm gonna assume the club was oversold cuz the coatcheck nightmare after 12:15'ish was inexcusable. Coatcheck was completely full until 3:30 or so, so I had to carry around my jacket until then. Washroom is too small as well.

LED lighting was pretty good..i liked how the lights in general synced to the music. I still felt I needed earplugs tho at times, so I wouldn't say the sound is perfect but I did get more of a surround effect which was great.

Quick notes about the music...Ame played good. He had some really great atmospheric tracks and had an overall progression with his music. I felt AD afterwards honestly just regressed afterwards and weren't playing anything too different from what we already heard and it was sorta boring until around 4:15'ish or so.

Overall I'm happy to see a bigger spot open up for this type of music but some improvements could be made.

So... this PK sound, does it live up to the hype? Best sound in Toronto? Looking forward to checking CODA out nevertheless

The ceiling reminds me of being at Stereo. Ah yeah...!

More thoughts later

Its pretty good. They need to tweak a bit next time, but I liked hearing the stereo effects more clearly than some other clubs.
