Also there have been numerous times when I purchased tickets, be it a club, a concert or a festival and I had to wait at least 30 minutes in line to get in. I don't understand where your logic derives from. If only ticket holders were let in until the last ticket holder was inside then people who missed out on buying tickets for a sold out show would be standing in the freezing cold for hours before being let in.

The people who didn't buy tix are at their own fault for not buying tix ahead of time. Ticket holders should get access no matter what and shouldn't be in any kind of general lineup because they helped the club get a general idea of how many people to expect beforehand and also helped the club sell cover before the event even started. They should get priority access as result. They should only wait in a lineup due to security searching people at the front but that's it. It's clear that Coda is continuing it's Footwork ways and wants to look "exclusive" by making even ticket holders wait, when ticket holders are the main mofos along with the list people who helped the club forecast ahead of time of how much resources they would need for said event.

There should be a certain number of at the door tix available for peeps who didn't get advanced tix and once that's done, then they're SOL and have to wait until people leave.

My 'logic' comes from years of clubbing and going to concerts in this city and outside this city in other parts of the world. I've pre-bought tix for events at Ryze, Cabal, Guv, Toika etc. and only experience lineups when security is doing a search. I know you're biased Gera because you play at this club and are in with the promoters, but you have to see what CODA is doing. Try being a regular patron at this clubs and see what happens. I appreciate them telling ticket holders ahead of time that they'll wait after 12:30 but there shouldn't be a wait at all and they're simply abusing their power in booking the 'hottest acts'and trying to be like a top 40 club in instituting a lineup when most other EDM clubs don't do that. And no, CODA is not on the level of Berghain to even attempt a door policy like this.

as far as i can recall.. guvs ticket line and main line has always been a single line. footwork and ryze/moskito had separate ticket lines (accept for one occasion i can recall for both). ticket line is generally shorter but you do wait still. i wish you didn't but it is what it is. when i went for beyer we waited in line a grand total of 3 minutes. they have been advertising line bypass till 1230. I've had major waits in that footwork line but thus far at coda/annex since the guys bought it i haven't had one yet. although, i completely missed the lights on the ceiling somehow. i didn't really notice how great the new sound is tbh, but have only seen beyer on it.

review for beyer: a little underwhelmed by his set, mainly as my taste in 'techno' is going away from that drumcode sound. still thought it was worth attending though and would go see him again. met a few new people drank a lot, had a killer pre drink, got kicked out a cab all in all was a good night. going to see Ida on sat =) . i choose my events based on booking, and ill be at coda a lot in the near future. I've seen this tech series. is that for techno ? I WISH you guys booked len faki :( any scoop on if any of the berghain guys will be stopping by soon? if not book them please =)

If you get in still i don't see why you would be upset? Come down to Miami when its really at the Doorman's discretion to let you in at all ticket or not haha I saw 10 separate people in front of me in line with tickets in hand get asked to step out of the line and bounce just because he didn't like the way they looked at story and i'm pretty sure without refund because they asked and doorman laughed so yah stay in Toronto i wouldn't want to hear you bitching down here :stongue:

God, sounds like Berlin

The problem is, everyone with or without a ticket arrives between 11:30-12:30. When 75% of the capacity of the club arrives within a one hour window, you're going to have to wait if you also arrive at that time. Regardless of how many door staff you have, and how effective they are at their job, there is only one set of doors.

If you don't want to wait, arrive before 11:15. That works for me on 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time, I know it's going to be a busier night, so I arrive even earlier. I never have to wait in line this way. I'd rather get to the club 15 minutes earlier and avoid 30-60 minute waits in line.

If you arrive during that 11:30-12:30 window, you can't bitch that the line is super long. The club has no control over when everyone arrives.

Apparently, this is a very difficult concept for Nobbie Q to grasp.

Also, STFU.

I think what's difficult for you to understand is they purposefully make people wait outside. This is what my argument is, and has been all along, ever since Footwork. This is has nothing to do with the club handling a mad rush of people and being short of staff....you think I don't know that the majority of people come between the times you listed?? We just had ItalianPoison bear witness to this in his own review by saying this:

quote:
Only issue with the night was AGAIN the ******y with the line up... we had tixs this time, n was forced to wait outside for 30mins at 1am... like come on at 1am most of the heads are already in the club and theres no need to hold the ticket line up that long... like the cash line up sure because of capacity issues... but the tix line up shouldnt need to wait that long.... they let in the people on the "list" but held the tix and cash line up... like really

As you can see, this is not about not having enough resources at the door to handle the crowd. They have the resources, but choose to hold the line. Is that hard to get?

As for other clubs, to give some examples, I came in for Sander K. at Ryze at 2 AM and Maceo Plex at Moskito at like 1:15 AM (on May 2-4 weekend nontheless) with pre bought tix and I was able to waltz right in with no BS both times. Coda does bring in crazy DJs no doubt but again they keep a line building outside like a top 40 club almost.

Also, you're not being 'cool' by joining the folks hating on me, you're too late on that bandwagan pal. Try again.

Maybe they don't want you to get in and enjoy yourself and still deliver a negative and biased review on every small detail of your night. OR maybe your bitching and ranting is part of the old adage of even bad reviews are good publicity, and by keeping you unsatisfied it only fuels your hate and encourages you to consistently post in this thread, thus bumping it up over and over giving it visibility to potential new patrons?

I'm pretty sure they're out to get you brah!

he's right, you have ticket you should have preferential treatment and be a priority, unless the club has other criteria, such as a certain look, bottle service or gender quotas that trumps ticket holders.

You guys need the constructive feedback if you want your clubs to be better than the hole Guv.

Ticket holders should be given preferential treatment but with all that said, the club can basically do what it wants to, at the end of the day.
Spin Laden
A cynic would also say that the club wants to make more money by having patrons show up early enough, this allows the club to maximize beverage sales as well as get a proper guage as to how many extra tickets it can sell on top of presales. Having people show up whenever they want runs counter to all that.

showed up at i don't remember but there was a ticket line and was let through like ASAP.. don't know what every ones complaining about so far. been twice to 'coda' and have been let in 5 minutes combined for two trips. been to the minus party before it was coda and was let in quick as well.

good night tonight. i thought huxley was nathan borato for like 2hours. huxley played far better than i expected.

ida comes on... she ed up twice (music went off in the middle of a song on two separate occasions) she seemed to blame the mixer but two times made it seem kind of fishy. regardless of that she played so good lmao. IMO she way outplayed beyer... on top of that she looked so damn hot / cute all night. i left when she did. woulda stayed longer if she kept playing. when beyer played the speakers were hurting my ear. today the sound was pretty much flawless. only wait was inside the staircase to get in and coat check. 15 minutes max. I'm still drunk but i can't really see any negatives to give to coda. maybe that theres no food in the near vicinity lol. book more techno <3
Spin Laden
once the weather gets better and the club gets some more nights under its belt the waits should be less for ticketholders as well
