Or the lighting they have in all of the sankeys clubs now. |
Yeah brother, i walked in and i was like Sankeys Toronto? lol
i think the ones at Sankeys are better, and i hope Coda goes full blown n updates it to make it more like Sankeys... i got no problem woth that...
With the exception of the ******y of a line up to get into Coda, everything was perfect...
fix the line up issue this is the second time that line up was a ing disaster to get in... please invest into proper fences for the line ups on busy nights... i dont want to have to pay off the bouncer everytime i go...
I was really impressed by the crowd and how they didnt jam the club over capacity...
I still dont see how this club can compete with other world class clubs... every famous club ive been to around the world had something different about it... i dont really feel it here per say...
None the less i look forward to going back...
Fingers crossed for a Lee Foss Brrrrr after party! |

Italian Poison - were they using that same animation all night? If they were, I'm guessing they didn't have time to program more. 3 weeks isn't a lot of time to renovate an entire club so chances are they aren't 100% complete.
I remember when guv renovated the main room room it was quite a while after they reopened before the laser was working at 100% |

I think Scuba and someone else is doing the afterparty at Coda.
They won't fix the lineup situation...it's FW management we're talking about so they're gonna repeat the same crap from before. I was amazed I was able to waltz in despite me having a ticket cuz I thought they'd pull some BS on me as well.
I guess it wasn't oversold cuz there was room to walk around where the bar area in the back is (which is a good thing). That being said, the coat check situation is lousy, as this place can't handle a full crowd and the bathroom situation is messed up too. 3 stalls and like 5 urinals? I've been to plenty of other clubs in Tdot and around the world where it was full and didn't have issues with coatcheck and the bathroom...so they seriously need to fix this.
More thoughts on this place...the DJ booth isn't raised up that high which allows for more interaction between people, which is good. Half these DJs aren't doing much at the front anyway so it's good that people aren't only focused on whatever they're doing. |

Footwork (I'm just going to keep calling it Footwork) can be counted on to consistently bring the best bookings, crowds, and atmosphere among Toronto clubs - and its most recent iteration has only taken that up a notch. However, there is also the "experience" of a club to consider - namely, its aesthetic qualities and the visceral spectacle of it all. To which end, I'd agree with what you seem to be getting at here. FW is a reliably good, consistently enjoyable place, but its nights as viewed independently have never been the most memorable. Smaller places like this are generally going to be at a natural disadvantage to some of their larger, more legendary peers though.
I'm too young to have experienced such venerable institutions as Industry, but I can at least remember the likes of Circa and Guv before it sucked. And those made for some pretty damn memorable experiences...but on the other hand, they never had the same breadth of well-curated nights and warm vibes that FW has. But, I know how much of a challenge operating a club can be, especially when it comes to securing a good location in Toronto. And overall, FW is easily the best club in the city today and probably like...the third best in North America after Output and Stereo. So, I'm not going to fault them for not having 40 ft. ceilings, a 2,000 person capacity, and a 500,000 gallon shark tank suspended in the middle of the room. :p Still though, just as far as the physical space goes, BLK BOX and 99 Sudbury are my favourite mid-sized venues in Toronto. |

Why do you even go out? You sound so miserable.
Toronto has me so inspired again. I already love Coda, 2014 is going to be a fun year for the clubber! |

More thoughts later |
I thought the same thing except for the obvious difference in ceiling height.
Doesn't look bad at all.
Still no disco ball. It is all about disco balls so big that people orbit around them. |
