the whole point of a ticket is to hold your spot at that venue, like a concert. If you showed up to a small sold out club show at the phoenix for Our Lady Peace after their set had already started, you would get in. I'm pretty sure that would be the case to almost anything with a ticket for some form of entertainment. Sporting events, plays, operas etc etc. I don't see why this should be different. There's definitely a good time and a bad time to show up to a club but a ticket = entry.Obviously the club will make more money if they let someone else in but if they want to play it like that, they should just get rid of tickets all together , because cutting off a ticket holder who shelled out for a ticket over a month ago isn't right |

That's where it gets tricky. I've been in various situations like this, gotten into sold out concerts by being at the venue shortly after the headliner went on, because they realized that based on the numbers of ticket holders inside there was room to allow more.
I've also shown up to a concert after the headliner went one with my tickets in hand and was not allowed in because there was a cut off time, I was allowed in, but not to the GA area where I paid for my tickets but elsewhere.
Maybe in this case they should have been two lines allowing people in after 12:30, but at a certain time they have to start assuming that people are not showing up and take advantage of the extra capacity to allow others in.
Don't quote me on this, but when you purchased your ticket before you paid for it, it said, line bypass before 12:30, after, you're subject to waiting in line. Said it on the receipt, and the ticket itself.
It's such a tricky judgment, do you want your club full for a good vibe and allow people who want to to be in there in? Or do you keep it less than full and wait for the lazy asses who can't come on time? People who could have just had tickets and said it, they don't wanna go anymore, plans changed so they cancelled, or just balling enough they had tickets but decided to do something else that evening?
EDIT - I know not the same, but I get so mad when I see empty spots at a sporting event that I totally would pay money to go be there and attend, but the game is sold out because some rich asses paid for the tickets and decided they're too good to show up. |

| You bring up a lot of good points there. They could have it both ways. Let some non-ticket holders in after 12:30 when a bunch of ticket holders haven't shown up, but don't give away all the ticket holders spots. Obviously not every ticket holder will show up over the course of the entire night but there should be a set number of spots that saved for late ticket holders that goes until 3 or 4AM. People are late for any number of legit reasons (working late for one) and shouldn't have an issue getting in when they arrive with a ticket, regardless of time. |

Lol it isn't ing tricky, are you insane? What is the goddamn point of buying a ticket in advance, if not to guarantee entry?
The issue is that people without tickets are being let in ahead of ticket holders. So what if it's past 1230? Ticket holders should be given priority, regardless.
The fault lies in the whole "line bypass until 1230" clause. That is some bull right there. It is clear that the ticket holder line was rammed while they let non ticket holders in - the pictures are on FB for all to see - so your "more people in the club for a better vibe" argument doesn't jive.
I will agree that it should be assessed situationally, and yeah if the ticket holder line is dead then let the non ticket peeps in, but if the ticket holder line is full then wtf. Again, why buy a ticket ahead of time? |

It doesn't matter what The Phoenix or any other venue's ticket policy is. Ultimately, Coda's ticket purchasers agree to the 12:30 rule when they buy their ticket. Sure, it'd be nice for latecomers if Coda didn't have this rule, but the club does, and the terms are agreed upon in advance. If ticket holders show up after 12:30, it's up to the club's discretion as to when/if the latecomers are let in. In the long run, if patrons feel disrespected, they'll stop going and Coda's business could suffer. For now, Coda's practices work well for their business. |

I don't work for the club and i never did. I play gigs when i get asked to do so and when i'm available. It's funny you're able to open your mouth so much even though you were thrown out from the venue for smoking a joint, which is ing retarded.
