You need to stop going to Coda if you have so many issues with the club. There are plenty other places you can go to. |
That is true... but how many other places bring in talent like coda? maybe ryze, and the odd other club... Toika bring in some nice ones too |

Yo man...where are the apologists for Coda now?? I told you guys they hold the line and I was branded a heretic. Look what happened. Just when I give this place a bit of credit, they rip people off ticket holders by not even letting them in. My friend's friend waited for 2 hours outside before giving up. yes, he had tix and do you think this venue is gonna give a refund? |
Nobody actually gives a what you think though. I mean you got kicked out for smoking a ing joint for 's sake. Proven idiot.
You'd think that someone with so many issues simply getting into the goddamn place would have some respect once he's finally inside. right off. |

| You guys can rip on him all you want, but not being able to get into a club after waiting for an hour, nevermind double that, WITH TICKETS is complete and utter bs ... I fail to see how behaviour like that from any club can be defended. |

| I totally agree with that, and am not defending it - but Noobie Q clearly has a very personal mission to hate this place at all costs. I'm not defending CODA as much as I am ripping on an idiot. I can't help myself, ok? |

Who is defending it? Obviously a million people showed up to an event that can't have that many people inside. I'm sure if you have Digweed or Sven vath then it will be exactly the same. You pick and choose where you want to go and what you want to deal with, I knew Sasha would be rammed as , everyone did so you can't then go online and cry how you didn't get in after showing up at 11-12 (even with tickets). I've been to Coda at least 10 times and I've never seen anyone not get in past 1am. This is obviously a rare occurrence. Still mad? request the venue to refund your money or just don't go anymore. |

Nothing wrong with his set on Friday if you actually follow his sound. He was steady and progressive with a few peaks between 2:40-3:20. Fairly standard Sasha set for a 3 hour slot. He will return in 12 months and the same critics will be out.
The line issues with FW/Coda are well documented. There will always be a "favorites" line. Agreed, expecting to be let in at all hours of the night with a ticket is just dumb business.
On the other hand, the excuses need to stop regarding FW/Coda and how they are working out their "kinks" for being new. The problem is simple, they just don't care. Demand is greater then supply, with the issue being more prevalent on busier nights. These guys have had several years to work on this issue, its how they do business.
Inadequate man power keeping order outside would be a simple way to respect the patrons who have given their money in advance. All it would take is one less useless bouncer patrolling the venue for weed. Post him at the start of the ticket line, validating guests who have pre sales. Shut the entry point of this line down at 12:30, as stated. Anyone who shows up with a ticket after is subject to the standard line. Assess how many ticket holders are left waiting in the pre sale line and continue to give them priority until they are all inside. All the while continually letting walk up guests in until capacity is met. Its not difficult to gauge capacity if someone keeps count of the ticket holders who have already entered. |

Do the tickets not state line bypass (and therein guaranteed entry) pre 12:30 am? If so, then anyone arriving prior to that time should have no problems getting into the club, and they should not be turned away from the door. The customer is not at fault here, and if that is what the club is advertising in the promo of these events then it is absolutely the club's fault and you should not be deflecting blame away from the club to the customer.
I also get that there are nights where it is crazy busy, and the patron's should have some common sense in arriving earlier and not right at midnight with the expectations of being granted immediate entry, but at the same time in this case it just seems like incompetence / bs / doucheyness from the club's end.
I dunno wtf kinda monkey farm operation they are running over there but w/e :p |

Sasha is in my top 3, so I follow his sound and I couldn't disagree more. His set was all over the place in my opinion. The first half was very techny, and then the last half had more melodic and progressive sounds. His high points were definitely between 2:40-3:20am like you said though.
Just not on his game on Saturday I feel. |

Tickets said 12:30pm actually, but you don't have to be a brain surgeon to realize what they meant.
I went around 11:45, no issues, walked right up,carded, ticket scanned, in and wristbands. No issue.
Everyone can't showup at 12:30, there will be a cluster no doubt.
Maybe even have a bouncer go to the back of the line right at 12:30 and say whomever is after that, tough s, but if you were in line (processing) already, you're good.
I had for the 2nd time some issues with comps/guestlist, once back when they first moved for the Minus party, then again on Sat night with Duke. I had comps for me plus 3 but the ticket girl said the promoter must not have explained properly because it was reduced and one comp. I showed text message from the guy who said we were comped and she said tough , he should have put it down earlier. I said fine, fair, no problem, just a logistical problem. Tried to go in with the reduced for my friends, lady says guestlist is closed at 11:30. It was 11:40, the past ten minutes was spent talking to her about the tickets. Ugh... finally got in, full price, but at least skipped the line. But I dunno who's fault it is, the door people, promoters, the club? I just need to me better prepared last time and more knowledgeable about Guestlist cut off times.
Oh well. Had a great weekend finally checking out Coda and some excellent music and friends. |
