Generally speaking I agree with Yohan and Cribby's reviews on other events.. so I'm going to tell myself that I didn't miss much.
That's too bad though, I would have imagined that the Sasha 'brand' would be a finely tuned machine after all these years. |

Just to be on topic, I'm glad I opted out of this one as well. It's exactly because I know Sasha's hit or miss that I didn't bother taking the night off work. I make too much money on weekend nights to risk losing out on it for something that wasn't gonna be guaranteed. Not that it's about expectations, just...yeah.
My instincts are usually right. I'm like the superbowl octopus but for parties. :toothless
I knew it was a bust when I didn't receive ANY texts from friends throughout the night. |

Agreed. I find his last three appearances in Toronto have been misses.
I'm happy I didn't miss much. Hopefully I can make it to his next show here in Toronto and hopefully he brings his A-game on that night, whenever it may be. |

it is an unwritten rule that you don't see Sasha at a club in Toronto (outdoor/non conventional venues is different)

Last time I saw Sasha at a club in TO was November 2008 at Guv with Three. Just searched for the review thread and yep, same , lol.
I don't recall loving that night, but only because I partied too hard the night before (Zabiela @ TIL, whoa), slept til 2am and missed the party (Burridge) I REALLY wanted to go to. :/ |

I wanna know what he played during the break of this?
May not have been my favourite thing he played all night, but he owned the floor with that bassline coming back in.
But I can't figure out what he played during the break of this though.
And I felt blueballed when he never kicked into Beautiful life mashup Adnhi - Hausch! But it worked very well!

Thank God for friends. They saved the night. Lots of people were out on Friday so it was great to see them. If it wasn't for them I would have left by 1. Sasha played the worst set I have ever heard. He played one good track around 3:30pm. Some Maceo Plex song. And I took that as a sign to leave b/c it was probably going to be the only good track he played.
Jon Jon was great at the beginning of the night. The second opened was okay - up and down.
First time at Coda and I enjoyed it. I look forward to coming back. It's a great space. |

| Yo man...where are the apologists for Coda now?? I told you guys they hold the line and I was branded a heretic. Look what happened. Just when I give this place a bit of credit, they rip people off ticket holders by not even letting them in. My friend's friend waited for 2 hours outside before giving up. yes, he had tix and do you think this venue is gonna give a refund? |

Last Friday was unlike any of the 8 or so other times I have been there... I would not use it to describe the typical behaviour regarding the line.
I would be interested to hear/read of how many other pre-purchased ticket holders did not get in; they were letting in ticket holders in priority from what I saw and heard. Wonder if your friend's friend was in the proper side of the line? |

You need to stop going to Coda if you have so many issues with the club. There are plenty other places you can go to. |
