I missed Seaman’s set but from what I hear he was spinning mostly progressive and the people were just chilling and not dancing there.

I was not disappointed, the vibe was awesome...the getups and costumes and decorating was cool....I honestly haven't felt that great since the second last time I saw Ferry...BoyTrance and I only caught the last hour of his set that time around....and it blew our underwear off....and we both did the funky chicken....RIGHT THERE ON THE DANCE FLOOR
wicked night I'm glad everyone had a good time

Didn’t mean to generalize... I think you misunderstood me. I heard this from my buddies that went there. Maybe they were just saying this about themselves. So yeah, they were just chilling during Seaman’s set, and I can't really say anything about the rest of the crowd since I wasn't at Kool Haus. |

If you are not blessing us with your twaddle from a mental hospital I suggest you go for a vision check cockbreath, I said his ***opening act*** was below his standards not his set.
If you are not a virgin to Corsten’s sets then you’d admit that the first half hour or so was probably the worst you ever heard coming from Ferry. |

I hear u, I was actually making fun of progressive up until Dave Seaman’s hour because I found the beats very mellow in the koolhouse up until that point...
As Peter said though, what the man dropped was absolutely f-i-l-t-h-y! Hard, bouncy, tribal… I can’t describe it either but there’s no way in hell I could’ve stood still to those beats |

| One thing that I noticed during Seamans set, while standing at the back of the bar; I haven't seen so many people in the Guvernment complex dancing at one time. So your friend must've been standing behind one of the tall dance stages, where there was barely any people, cuz if anyone saw the crowd, they would know....hands were up in the air, people were cheering, dancing...it was GOOD. Ferry sucked. Topnotch mixing?  |

infinity no offence or anything but how can u say he sucked when u first posted you said you saw him play 3 songs and then left right after that.. if you call judging a dj by the first three songs then okay but i think thats a pretty harsh statement..
everyone else is saying the first hour was pretty slow but he blew everyone away afterwards.. |

yay, i can finally post my 2 cents...
when we first got there, i didn't think we could make it in before 12, cuz the line-up looked huge, but we did ^^ chilled in kool haus for a bit to dj three i think. meh, alright stuff. bought a drink, some water, and we headed off to the acid lounge to chill again. while walking there, heard oliver throw down some awesome track. i wish i knew the name of it, but i know it's kind of overplayed in the trance energy and sensation vids, but good schtill. went out to hear all the old-school tunes (none of which i know - i really need to start checking the playlists of the sets that i listen to :/) ferry came on then, and even though i do agree with the reviews about his opening act, i still had a massive good time, just cuz i was watching ferry, and his energy transferred to me. i mean, he was air-synthing, hands-clapping, head-bobbing, smiling :D and it just made me feel good.
i thought the music in guv was loud (they did go overboard on the bass) but we headed into the haus, hearing that seaman was tearing it down. i must say, i rather enjoyed his progressive. ing loud though, holy ! i sat and chilled for a bit, eyes closed, for about twenty minutes, and the underlying bass beat is so infectious, i felt so awesome. the small space he left between some tracks brought me down into a valley, and when it picked up again, it felt daaaammnn good. but, decided to head back on over to ferry, and whudayaknow, punk just came on. hellz yeh!
weird thing though. as we were walking in, guv sounded so quiet. guess i was used to kool haus' volume, but it was really weird hearing people's conversations and actually understanding them, hehe. punk totally uplifted me though, that was the one track i was waiting for and i knew he was going to play it. looking over at durafei, totally enjoying it, made me even more happy. just wish there was more room to dance, fack. it wasn't packed, but it was crowded. after punk, the rest of the night was pretty much a blur, thanks to some good stuff. left at around 7:20 i think, and ferry was playing some nice .
got home at around 8:15, and got ready for work  off work at 4, thanksgiving dinner at my aunts   and here i am now. so yeah, awake 36 straight hours, not too bad for myself.
if this party has taught me one thing though: get to know my tracks! it pisses me off when i knoe the track, but not the name :/
thanks to durafei for meeting up with me at the bus station, and 'hi' to his friends. sorry, i forget names easily :/
i'm split on this friday though... fergie or purple room... if i can get a ride to viva, fergie for sure, if not i'll setlle for purple room. though, i am definately craving harder tech-trance more and more these days... oh well, i'll see what happens.
9/10 for seaman - damn nice mixing, sic prog beats.
8/10 for corsten - bass was overdone, would've liked better mixing, but was damn good nonetheless.
peace. |

Ferry Corsten's mixing was amazing! The beat matching was perfect, transitions were almost unnoticeable, and the music was just beautiful. I am a sucker for melody :), and Corsten was spinning very beautiful melody. At times, I would just close my eyes, and let the melody take me on a journey. You can’t imagine how much pleasure I received listening to some of the tracks that he played. I was flying! |

Okay, my review on last night:
Mark Oliver played a good set, but some of his mixing was absolutely terrible, I dunno if he was having problems with the mixer (i.e. the fader) or what, like wf, did anyone else catch some of that ? :eyes: Anyhow, he played some great classics in there, good lead up to Ferry...
Ferry Corsten over all had a SOLID set. He played some GREAT freakin tunes along with many classics, and quite a few tunes I've NEVER head before that I was mighty impressed with! Now the mixing wasn't anything phenomenal, here n there Ferry did a really smooth perfect mis between tracks, and other times he seemed to have gotten lazy and just start go right into a next track almost like you're listening to one of his trance nation cds... lol BUT, overall it was TOO wickid. The vibe was WICKED (I dunno what some of you were saying, I guess it was where we were situated), everyone was into it, along with Ferry, and of course a party wouldnt be a party without good friends to share it with you! And I did. :)
It was also good meeting Time2Burn for what I THINK might be the first time, but i have feeling we might've met before, but either way we both couldnt remeber, but I shall remeber now! lol. Good seeing tatgirl again and thanx for introducing me! KevinExcite, you da man! Malice n liquidchick, sorry I didnt see you guys sooner, woulda been EVEN better if we were all together, but there's always next time...
Wish I coulda seen more TA's, but it was allgood... fun fun fun!
hooha! :D |

kool house - dave seaman : BOOM!
nice and fresh, room to dance, room to breathe, not too hot, free spliffs going our way, beats so heavy that you just want to move MOVE and MOVE!
guvernment - ferry corsten : psssst
packed, smelly, ferry in a booth, sound system eh, way too many people constantly moving through tightest spots. some tracks he threw our way were nice but i just couldn't enjoy them.
i forgive ferry for the lack of everything he brought to guv last year, although I understand the guy.. he just got married and has a lot on his mind.. |
