I am a sucker for melody :), and Corsten was spinning very beautiful melody. At times, I would just close my eyes, and let the melody take me on a journey. You can’t imagine how much pleasure I received listening to some of the tracks that he played. I was flying!

i love melodies too...Armin blew me away each time he was here...Ferry though...meh...was seriously putting me to sleep

Ah well first time posting... I thought the warmup DJ for dave seaman was a bit too progressive. Ended up at guvernment at about 2:30 and it was much more packed than I remember it ever being. So much for dancing. The bass was a bit too much and seemed to overpower the melodies, which is NOT the way to listen to trance music. Ferry got better after about 5:00, and the place cleared out a bit. It really opened up at 7:00, which was when we ended up leaving.. The crowd was still too sketchy.. sigh

Tribal?!?? Last night? He didn't spin any of that.. if he did that would make my night!

My bad, only 1 track had a tribal-ish kind of base but that's about it
Regardless, everything about Seaman was top notch

First off let me just say Dave Seaman just ing KILLED ME!!!! Next time he comes I AM THERE.:D :eyes: There was LOADS of room, tons of breathing/dancing space, women all over the place. I even ran into one of my friend's friend I met at a pub night at York who showed up. Which was really cool (Infinityhigh knows why lol). Anyway KH just was awesome overall. One thing in particular made it all the better, I go to the bathroom then on the way back I see a MASSIVE crowd of about 15 TA's going BERSERK in front of the booth so I walk up there and then I look to my right, I see a good buddy of mine I hit up tons of parties with before! Everybody Iknow is basically right there partying at the same spot. Koolness! (I can't wait to see the pics!) There's one of me just going crazy. Tanks Nat!). So we finally head over to Guv for Ferry and yes it wasn't amazing as I thought it would be but I have seen Ferry before, I would have to say he was better the last time I saw him. You all say he was better after 4:30? Crap because that's when I left...had work, got 6 hrs of sleep, not too bad for me. Originally I was there to see Ferry but Seaman took the night and just made it wicked!! (even if it was just a hour and a half/two hr period). My scores:
Ferry Corsten - 6/10
Dave Seaman - 9/10
Party atmosphere - 9/10

P.S Malice man! Talking to you was pretty cool, didn't really get a chance to do that before. Nice partying w ya.

looks like I missed out a wicked party in the Koolhaus :( I have yet to check out Seaman live.

Well I had a great night. Nothing really to complain about except the heat in Guv. I think they just have to throw in some good AC units or fans. Anyway... I listened to Mark Oliver spin from about 11:50-1:10 and thought he did a great job. It's always nice to hear the classics thrown into a set. No complaints about the mixing either. I caught DJ Three from 1:10-2:00 and was really surprised with what I heard. I would never be able to id his tracks but at least 4 of them got me moving like crazy. I really enjoyed what he spun. Seaman came on around 2:00 and immediately pulled me into his set. I was moving like mad from when he started spinning till 3:30. He spun a couple unespected tracks as well that really tripped me out. The temperature and space in Koolhaus was perfect as well. That really helped to keep the sweating to a minimum. After a bit of a break I headed back to Guv to listen to Corsten. I was there from 3:45-6:15 and thought he was amazing. I missed the first 25mins of his set so I must have missed the rough opening. Though its too bad that some people would judge a set just because of a rough start. You gotta remember that you're never using the same equipment when you dj in a different place every night so it may take a couple tracks to get use to things. Maybe that's no real excuse but I don't think a couple crappy mixes totally ruin a set anyway. I was glad he played a bunch of unknown tracks along with the regulars you'd expect from him.

Overall I give the night an 8.5/10. Lineup was fine, traffic between rooms was no problem, crowd size was tolerable, and I heard 4 amazing dj's spin. Not bad for a $15 cover chaarge. They could have done without a lot of the messed up shows but it's understandable for an anniversary party.

As for the people still complaining about the crowd size in Guv, remember that it was the 6 year spin anniversary so a lot of people probably wanted to see Mark Oliver. Also its an all access party so a popular name like Ferry Corsten will pull in more people from the entire complex. I think it would have been a pain in the ass if they started regulating people at the Guv entrances.

Thanks to Hansolo for the guestlist and to my friends for another night to remember...

If you are not a virgin to Corsten’s sets then you’d admit that the first half hour or so was probably the worst you ever heard coming from Ferry.
