Is that in September? I have always wanted to go. One day!!
Silky Johnson
What are the dates usually? My sister lives on the West coast so it's certainly doable if I made it a combined trip.
Joss Weatherby
Usually the last full week of September. You guys got a year to plan it out, but it's really worth it. You can make it as full on or as chill as you want, a really good experience.
Silky Johnson
Might be able to do it next year. I'm definitely down for it, just depends on funds.
MeLLyMeL
I might want to do Ibiza again during that time. Planning for mid-late September :/

Nope, for two reasons

1) Where I work, that is a time-off blackout time. Its very rare anyone gets any time off if they request it for Memorial Day weekend.

2) I started going to DEMF in 2006. The prices then were what, $60 USD for the whole weekend? Now its like $150. The EDM craze has caused all ticket prices for festivals to ing skyrocket. While many people say "well, its not as expensive as Tomorrowland or Ultra", that still isn't an excuse.
Silky Johnson
Lol, prices go up - it's called inflation and it affects ravers too. Btw, newsletter subscribers get a discounted ticket price. GA admission is 110 for the whole weekend, VIP is 220.

Just bought mine. VIP. 233 and change including service fees. Even THAT is still a good price for 3 days of so much of amazing music. Works out to be what? 70 bucks a day?

GA works out to be about 36 bucks a day. Give me a break if you're complaining about that!

edit: Nevermind, those are the full prices. Seems I wasn't fast enough (lol I was logged in RIGHT at eleven). Discount price was 90 bucks GA, and 180 VIP.
OrangestO
Yea, the ticket prices aren't a turn off at all.

It's still 'cheap' compared to any other festival with a world-class lineup.

Perfect way to start the summer, imo

Silky Johnson
Agreed! Ugh god now we have to get through winter, lol. Where are you planning on staying? VIPs get a discounted hotel rate at the Westin, but we are already booked at the Double Tree. If the Westin discount is significant, we might cancel and book there instead, but ultimately we want to be with all our peeps. :)
OrangestO
We're pretty much in the same boat. My buddy (another FLTA) booked a room at the Doubletree, too. Waiting to see what this discount at the Westin is all about.

I've also been browsing AirBnB and there are some dope spots in DT Detroit during that weekend for the low. Might try to swing that.

Either way, we're safe from the last-minute frenzy of trying to find something close to Hart Plaza.
