| Lira have you ever been to Rio? |

As a matter of fact, yeah, I lived there for a year as a kid, opposite the racing circuit, and I spent two weeks there last year.
Is there anything you'd like to know about the city? |

| Do they only kidnap white foreigners? |
|
|
| Lira |
| I don't think so, no. If anything, I suppose black poor people from the favelas are the one who bear the brunt of the violence. |

My knowledge of Brasil comes via the Simpsons

Not a bad way to learn about the country. The Simpsons played on stereotypes and poked fun at us the same way they poked fun at Japan and Australia before, but some of the things they said are surprisingly true.
For example, Brazilian drinks are way too sweet (or drinks abroad aren't sweet enough, depending on your point of view), so Homer's reaction was totally believable. Scantily clad TV presenters are a thing. Foreigners thinking we speak Spanish is not that uncommon either :p |

Our Lord of the drinks thinks it's just fine....
First week sucks pretty much for us, way too many things go wrong in swimming, cycling, judo, tennis and more...
Won't be our best Olympics this way, although the second week might bring some more joy as all bad luck is spend. Even one of the horses got bitten by god knows what... |

| Anyone else sick of swimming? I had my fill after the first couple of days but after a week Jesus Christ kill me already. |

Cute moment from tonight's match. I didn't get to enter the stadium with the placard I wanted, but we all learned how Australians are used to things being upside down :p |
