as for hardtrance81, i dont see why u go to another country's forum to start some crap...dont u have ur own war thread in the US forums?? as it is we have enough of hot heads here....now im not saying u arent welcome.. but on topics such as this, u can fight elsewhere.. |

about US involvment with saddam in the 80's:
I agree, that training any one non-american, or arming anyone non-american was and is a mistake, especially for politcal gain. It is something i am ashamed of i am against in the future. I do not think we should get involved with other countries problems or conflicts, and we should not fund them or supply them for politcal gain, it is wrong. However, I feel that the U.S. should get involved if innocent people are being murdered or starved to death in any country because of politcal or religous (sp) struggle. the death of innocence during peace times calls for war. not to right it, but to stop it. i would drop a bomb that would kill 1,000 people today had i KNOW it would save a million lives tomorrow. i would give up my life today, and fight a war, so that my sisters and mother, and you and your family are safe at home where ever you are.
About now:
it is time saddam had paid for his crimes. I am disappointed that it took so long, and that this had not happened when saddam comitted the crimes but at least he pays for them. and we pay for our mistakes as well, you know. now, becuase of foolish mistake we made years ago. our boys and girls had to correct our parents wrong and put innocent bloodshed to an end by giving up their lives along with taking others. I am not proud people had to die these past few months. I am angry, and i am saddened. i wish it would have never came to this. i wish we had done something earlier, to prevent this. But at this point there is no sense crying over spilt milk. I want peace, and i want to avoid war, but i know the point where talking is a lost cause and it's time to take action.
again, no sense crying over spilt milk. the wheels are already set in motion, all we can do now is watch like a hawk. i pray every night and watch closely at what happens. i pray that this is not bush's attemp to pocket anything from that country, and if so I will be the first one at his doorstep.....
i guess my point was and still is: Talking, and protesting only takes you so far. There comes a point where action needs to be taken. Action does exactly mean violence or force, it means NOT standing around chanting slogans of what some would consider facts. it means doing SOMETHING. not nothing. |
wells .. i agree and disagree with you at the same time. i'm glad that atleast you justified your opinion on this unlike many other people who believe it just due to CNN. anyone backing this conflict should atleast feel some shame in the involvement that the US and many western allies had in causing this whole problem in the first place. in terms of protesting, i don't see anything wrong with it at all as long as it's not violent. people chaining themselves to doors, fences, etc. is going a bit too far. but at the same time, pro-war people protest as well. again nothing wrong unless it gets violent. hell, even pro-war - anti-war protesters almost got into a fight which could have erupted into a riot in New York .. so what you're saying can be associated with both sides of the coin. anyways, i acknowledge and appreciate your reasons for wanting this war for just causes, unfortunately not everyone on your side of the fence is going to think the same way. only time will tell if this conflict is tainted in conspiracy .. |

Oh dude I got nothing against your opinion on protesting. I just thought you were one of those people that buys in the whole "WoMD/atrocties/terrorist are the cause of the war" bull Bush's been spewing. |

your right about protesting, it can be somewhat helpful to en extent. then it ends up in riots like you said. too many people in one place = stupidity. you and I, are here sharing our thoughts and not a bad word has been said. but you throw about 20 more people in here, and all of a sudden we turn into a bunch of ranting idiots... nothing gets solved that way.
Thank you for hearing me out, and i respect your opinoins as well. i know sometimes i get a little to too into debate but thats only cause i am passionate about whats going on. You guys are cool, we need more people like you here.
lol, DJ El Kay Dee is just mad cause I seriously flammed him in a couple forums.... flamming is nothing to be proud of, but there is noticable resentment(sp) cause of childish remarks. and as ofr the comment on the foreign forum, i consider myself a global citizen, if I want to learn anything about you guys i have stop in every once in a while and listen in.... it's not as good as traveling but will have to do until i get some more money. |

I may not be as global as that, but my father's side is irish, 2 generations in america and my mother was born in brazil and her father was born in Sryia (sp) and i had spent time in brasil, but never in Syria
oh yeah, and i am only 6hours away from you guys... i live closer to you guys than i do my parents lol...... i was going to go to montreal a few weaks ago but plan didn't go through. i plan on going some time this summer though..... |
