..personally i think that 95 % of the Vocal Trance Stuff is real real Crap :whip:
some exceptions >> BT's works, Cass & Slide, Andain, Chakra;
these are some examples were the songs are more beautiful with vocals than without...but there are fery few traxx of this sort !!!
We should fight the cheap vocal stuff !! it's against the philosophy of Trance ... Trance should be a mental trip ... with vocals u r getting disturb...it's definitely the wrong direction !!
Vocal Trance is NOT AN EVOLUTION !!
With all these vocal versions , Trance is becoming more and more commercial, Vocals are for airplay, Vocals are for the stupid masses !!
Vocal Trance can't give u true trance feelings.people should NOT be excited about the messages.yeah it's nice when there are cool messages like the ones in *as the rush comes*...but it's even 10 times better if there is a hypnotic mellow ... support REAL TRANCE and fight the rest !!!!
Hope there are many people who think it like me.I'm into electronic music since 91 + I really think that pure Trance can give us the highest inspiration...but since 2001 i think many things have gone worse !!!

but we can try to save true uplifting emotions.maybe the vocal stuff is just a trend...but IMHO it's a VERY DANGEROUS TREND for the entire trance scene !!!
look at l-vee or mike >> they never make cheap vocal stuff >> THESE ARE REAL TRANCE GODS !!
If there is an anti-cheese alliance...i would be the first to create an anti-vocal alliance !!!
I hope at least a few of the so-called *tranceaddicts* :D out there are of the same opinion !! |

i quite agree with beatz.. for a real state of trance u don't need vocals.. they can disturb that tranzy state. but it all depends on the vocals: if they are good they don't bother me, the cheap ones give trance a bad name :clown: |

i totally agree with you beatz. most vocal "trance" productions are just lame cheese trying to milk a buck out of the masses. most of the time i cringe upon hearing the stupid vocal version of a tune. why? because most of the time, they aren't done tastefully in my opinion.
stop the CHEESE!
oh and i tend to think more people got into REAL QUALITY trance by discovering it through non-vocal, non-cheese trance. that was the way for me and i'm sure for many others. |

You forget the big flaw in your argument.
You say some vocal are good, I like quite a lot of them (not the cheese ones though, legit like Jan Johnston etc) But if it was not supported like you want us to do, what about the future classics that would never be made, the generation after us might want it, as Tech said, quit crying, listen to what you want, and let us have choice, no point becomming a dictator about it all, that's so Saddam |

this is quite an interesting point. I agree in the sense that tracks that are originally instrumentals which then get added vocals for their full release is wrong. this is obviously done simply to try and generate a greater commericial appeal, maybe get peak time radio airplay and obviously drive up the sales figures. although this may not be a good example, this is what has happened with warrior - if you want me. it originally started as an instrumental on an untitled 1 sided incentive test press but now for its final release it has been given some vocals. this is obviously to try and make more money out of it.
but some times vocals can add a lot to a track but a lot of the time they are incredibly lame and make no sense. a good example of a track originally produced with vocals that suit the nature of the track is plummet - damaged which obviously wouldnt have as much depth if it was simply an instrumental. this may also not be a very good example as many consider this track to simply reek of cheese. but hey, i like it. |
