the stock fuel system on the Supra and Skyline can get a lot out of the T51R and similar size turbo's without uprating the Fuel management system. OF course, the full potential o the turbo won't be reached unless you do of course, but nothing a Walbro and various other bits and bobs wont solve :)

And the electronic side of things, i.e the air/fuel ratio, boost controller, oil cooler etc goes hand in hand with big mechanical mods. since ThaDevil has stuck with HKS, i'd go for the HKS F-CON and HKS VPS (sp?) to handle those aspects. I'm sure he has already got a boost controller to maximise the performance of his current turbo since he has also got an aftermarket FMIC. It would be silly not to!

"Despite our best red-blooded American efforts and every launch method in the book, the Cobra would not run better than 13.36 at 106 mph. Averaging our best two runs (as is our standard) produced a 13.4-second run at 108 mph. This left us puzzled, as we've seen numerous tests of this car with acceleration times at least two-tenths quicker.

So we switched directions, thinking the slight headwind was causing a problem. Nothing. We even moved to a different location hoping of finding better grip off the line. Still nothing. We're not sure if it was the heat, the grip or the car, but on that day, the Cobra just wouldn't go any quicker. The Lotus, however, would. After a few runs to dial in the launch, the Elise put its 192 hp to the ground with only a squeak from the R-compound Yokohamas and stormed its mid-engine chassis through the traps in 12.6-seconds at 110 mph."

:stongue: Owned! That's a difference of 190hp & 207 lb-ft torque! :stongue:

Put up some hi res shots of that baby!

Even though im an euro car fan myself and woudnt think of having any other car for a daily driver (my fathers hyundai doesnt count its not mine, im looking for a nice alfa romeo 156 :D) the skyline is one of the cars that totaly blow me away by the looks, performances and price (what to buy an M5 or an GTR...the price is about the same:rolleyes: ) ive seen some R32s going for 50k euro in germany :nervous: with what im currently making id save up for that in about 15 years if i woudnt go out anymore and eat only bread an water :(
dj_mdma
mate, R32's in this country go for around £5000- £7500! Thats about 7500 to 8750 Euro's!

I just looked in Fastcar Magazine an there is a 1998 R34 Skyline with full Bomex kit, HKS bits and bobs like ThaDevils, and its going for £16000, which is about 24,000 Euros or Dollars :D

Well that r32 wasnt stocck either and it was converted so it can be driven in countries that drive on the right side of the road which would be a must in most places if you want to register it. And im quite sure that the conversion didnt come cheap :)

Doesnt really matter it just means that in a couple of years ill be driving an M3 instead of a skyline gtr :p

I'm really happy with my Skyline thank you very much, and Im not planning on selling it anytime soon.

My First Car.

1985 Saab 900 Speacial Edition With Second Stage Turbo......

oh man, did my uncle take care of that car, and did I ever race the crap out of it when I got it....:disbelief

Import all the way, But I like the European cars first... Too bad Saab is owned by GM now...... oh well, I'll buy a mini!

American cars aren't built to look good. Just go fast............In a straight line. A bus handles better.
Imported(Japanese or German) cars have better build quality but i'm a believer that the only things that come in two litres are milk and juice.(skylines and evo's are excluded)

Don't leave out the aussie cars. which most of you wont get. The Americans get a softer version of our Holden Monaro or HSV coupe in the form of the pontiac GTO.(which doesn't look as good or go as hard as ours)
Plus basically all of our high performance cars have american engines. Except handle like rice burners. The holdens have the 5.7litre Gen3 enginge. The fords have the mustang V8 and the 4litre 6cyl turbo which i think is based on one of the americans older engines.

American cars do the quarter mile in 2.4 seconds at 330

you just cant get 5000hp out of a 4 banger, im sorry

If you are looking @ all around driveability, then look at the World Rally Championships. That combines everything a car should be into 1 package...dont see honda or acura in there either...

ok what about luxury cars like porches and vettes and ferraris? stuff like le mans and GT tours...oh I think Acura is in 1 of those.

Japan makes virtually nothing that excels in multiple categories...

yeah yeah, Nissan Skyline. Toyota Supra. Not impressed. Two cars in the entire history of Japan.

they are econo cars, plain and simple. You can spend a lot of money and make them worthwhile, true. but the money will do better things in better cars.

Cleary, Your missing the point japan is trying to make. Japan is not trying to make supercars that you will never be able to drive on the road. They are trying to make something fun, fast, and dependable all for an affordable price. Not all of us have 250,000 to throw away on a porsche or some saleen. why not buy the mitsu evo VIII for 30,000 throw 5,000 into it and can eat-up all the porsche's you pass on the way to pick up your groceries while pocketing the rest to buy a few other toys? Don't get me wrong I love all cars, I just like to MAKE something I can take pride in. The way i look at it, there are two drivers, the wanna be, and the enthusiasts. You can either buy the fast car with the warranties and have the dealer fix your car when something goes wrong (cause we know you can't) or you can buy something for muchless and put the time and money into to it to make it worth something to you. YOUR car. Not the same car every schmuck with 250,000 dollars have. This is yours. And i am not talking about throwing on a new bumper, an intake, and muffler either. I mean serious work. Nobody buys mclaren or a saleen and and modifies it because the price includes performance perfection.

as for the comment on the world rally, SUBARU is a jap import killah, world rally champion.Toyota, world rally champion. Mitsubishi, world rally champion.....Instantly I feel like you dont know what your talking about.

Talking about cars is much more than reading the drag stats the dealer puts out on the car when it goes for sale. Do your homework

P.S. I am not glorifying civics or accords or del sols... I am just saying, don't knock the imports....

Why would anyone want to sell a skyline:nervous:

BTW a question...how did get used to sitting on the right side :) I tried driving a jap import once (NSX  ) and i was all lsot i dont think that i would be able to drive that thing fast. Wven after years of practice, im just 2 used to sitting on the left side:) Passing people on narrow roads would be a blast 2 s i wouldnt see around them :)
ThaDevil
Im still not 100% used to it, its kind of difficult to adjust.
