hondas and acuras dont just use the same engine, they are the same cars :) I think the acrua name is only used in american market. Like the acura NSX is known as a honda NSX here in Europe. And the acura RSX is basicly an euro honda accord :D Same for nissan/infinity.
| quote: | | but american cars are somtimes over looked. i mean, saleens, vipers, vets, and all them good USA race machines |
Ok ill give you viper, which is sort of admired even in europe, but the others :nervous: They behave on the road as though they wore designed for drag racing :nervous: Ive seen a 92 BMW E36 325i beating a 02 vette around the track. The vette would have a great advantage on the straights (it has 200hp more i think) but when it came to a corner it was like WTF is this doing here the road should be straight not curved. Now i thought that the driver was lousy, but i had the option of testing both cars alter and i could push the bmw trough the corners faster |

i'm very into import cars and car modifications. But that doesn't mean i don't like the domestics. I'm a HUGE fan of the Mustang GTs(stock) as much as i am a fan of import show cars. I've accepted many of the import car mods such as bodykits and lowered suspension and all that, but cmon! STOP WITH THE ALTEZZAS!!!!
mmmmm, i love blowoff valves. :) WRX :) |

own: 00' HOnda Accord Coupe. and Love it
Didn't buy it to have a 10 sec. car. HOwever compare to american cars within same class.
FACTS: It's much more reliable and better gas mileage.
opinion: better style
facts: domestics depreciate so much... price drops as sooon as u drive it out the dealership.
however when I graduate from college..and get a good job
will be buying an Import: Japanese or Euro
decisions: Nissan 350Z, Infiniti g35, Lancer Evolution, BMW 330ci, Audi A4 quattro
however I do respect domestics...but only the old muscle cars.
:haha: |

Hondas, to me are the best cars there is. Reliable, they last, economig, and you can turn them almost into anything you want. And you can see that Honda has been on the #1 spot for more then 10 years on the Annual selection of Car and Driver among others. take into consideration that Acura's have a Honda motor. Acura's are just as good.

If your talking about people movers, cars that you drop your kids of to school with, and do the grocery shopping, yes, you're quiet right.
But in Japan, Honda isn't seen very favourable with the population. Infact, if you drive a Honda, you're either:
A. A wanker,
or
B. A rich wanker that doesn't know all about cars.
Now most people make the viewpoint that Hondas are highly refined, "precision enginered" etc, etc, with UNMATCHED and UNPARALLED handeling characteristics. I mean, for the exuberant price you fork out compared to other Jap vehciles, you better hope so.
Now Im sure alot of people will take the viewpoint that Civics, Integras and preludes no doubt "own", but who wants to be driving highly underpowered FWD vehicles that cost 25-35% more then equivelent jap vehciles. I mean, you dont need brains to realise that every single other jap manufacture insists of on staying away from the FWD scene :nervous: And there's a reason, FWD cars weren't typically designed for the BOy Racer, or to go fast in a straight line.
Now even if you still have a glistening prejudice towards Honda and isist they're better, there's one favourable alternative to the whole FWD honda brigade for 2/3 of the price. It's called the mitsubishi FTO GPX. It's a 2.0litre FWD aswell putting out 150kw, and you'd be a idiot to not to buy it over any of the above mentioned hondas
Not only that, why buy ANY honda at all, when everysingle other jap car blows them away. look:
1. The 1992 nissan pulsar GTiR - a 2.0L turbo (the SR20DET of course :D) putting out 172kw through FOUR WHEELS!!! yes!! 0-100kmh in 5-89 seconds, and the quarter in 14 flat. all that for $AU20,000 (around $US10,000). Of course that's in stock form, and alot of these cars modded put out easily in excess of 250kw :D
2. The Nissan Bluebird Atessa SSS - Again, this is a 2.0l Turbo, that was mainly designed for luxury and space. It put's out 155kw, is AWD, pulls 0-100 in 6.17seconds, and the quarter in 14.5. For the luxury and the equivalent price of the Pulsar GTiR, id buy one of these baby's over a prelude any old time (Actually, the thought of buying a prelude would never even cross my mind, they're just plain  )
Now the fact of the matter is, every single manufacture in japan has cars that are better then hondas.
Even when comparing their flagship Honda S2000 (which costs near double what the following vehicles cost)honda remains the disgrace of the japanese automotive industry(unless you base success on the number of civics sold worldwide of course).
For starters, Nissan still beats it with their Skyline, their 300zx, and their Spec - R S15 silvia.
Toyota with their supra( i mean, even a MR2 - GT, which is the turbo model putting out 168kw could beat it, and that's just disgraceful )
Mazda - Take a guess  |

This car is incredibly affordable, and has very very high quality parts in it. The shere durability of the car is going to be fantastic, and the modding potential is still there to drop times even further. Add that to having a Dodge warranty and cool lookin car, i think its one of the best packages out there. |
Neons cool looking? :stongue: I can't stand the way a Neon looks...those ty looking "bug eye" headlights :wtf: I'd say they're a step up from a VW Beetle in looks. :stongue: They're not even agressive looking. I will steer clear of any Dodge/Chrysler product in the future. My dad has owned 2 vans and has to replace the tranny every 60-80k miles. That's bull, besides...it's not even an American engine in it...they use Mitsubishi engines! :stongue: |
