You can play 24 bit files while mixing/mastering/processing but yeah you must dither to 16 bits to put on CD.
But you always want to work with 24 bits. If you were trying to draw a 256 color pic (8 bit) you would want to do the drawing in 24 bit color then dither it down to 256 colors at the end. It would come out alot worse trying to only use the 256 colors for the whole process.

I made a remix for "american madness" - chris leibing, for a contest, but its not that great. I need a few more years practice. Also made a "naked angel" but it turned out to have nothing to do with naked angel, just its own song really. They're not great, but i'm trying not to just do your standard trance, trying to learn to do different things.
I just bought a house :toocool: so I'm getting my stuff hooked up again and need to get some songs going. Plus need to get some sort of speakers, not sure what to get. Any suggestions? Need to rock out u know. Maybe get a dedicated amp instead of a receiver? |

Dedicated amps do sound better, more bass and more clubby especially pushing some strong 15s, but it costs about 4X and I hope your neighbors aren't like mine. I'm gonna be shopping for a new house if I ever get some free time. |

| I gotta test out how loud I can be. Its a block house so it should stop some bass. I'm trying to figure out if I should get floor standing speakers, like 3 way 12's, or maybe get a sub seperate from the mids & hi's. But not a home theater type sub, those seem too wimpy. Not sure where to shop. Anything is better than using my 6.5" studio monitors though. |
