Yep that's old news to us. The similarity issue between our president and Conan O'Brien was posted on Conan's messageboard a long time ago and the producers of the show decided to use it and Conan has been whoring about it ever since until he came here to actually meet his lookalike in person. |

| Yes what do you mean by empty? We do have alot of forests and free unurban'd nature and only 5.2 million people in the whole country so i guess you could say we are empty, at some parts but around the more "civilized" area here's as much people as usual in the equal size developed countries. |

5.2mil in an area of over 100,000sq miles. Theres more people living in orange county than all of Finland.
Anyways I have nothing against the Fins. They seem like friendly people and its not a big deal that most of the country is empty as in the sense that there is much land unspoiled.
I was just saying that don't you feel like you sometimes live in real small country. There are more people in the city wher I live that is Chicago. Nine million people and you know I made this populated place small by having good friends that it doesn't matter how populated the city gets i won't ever have the feeling of emptiness that people in Finland would have because their country consists of fewer people and that would just make the world seem
small and I would be depressed.

I don't need to feel we live in a real small country. I KNOW we live in a small country. :p And that doesn't bother me at all, i wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Lots of good and even better stuff originate from this little piece of land in the far north and i'm proud of it.
Heh even Nokia's cell phones originate from a little (by US standards) Finnish town of 20 000 people, called Salo and where i was born and grew up in. And even if we are this small, we are great in several kinds of things, especially sports tho we were even better back in the day.
I enjoy going out in the countryside without the need to worry i would be trespassing to someone's backyard.. there are lots and lots of forests, fields and open space you can hike through. And that's only a few mins away from where i live. I bet in the US it isn't quite that easy but you actually need to drive some hours to find a peaceful spot? |

Well where I am it takes seven hours to go to the National Forest preserve thats in the southern part of Illinois than in the North there is Wisconsin and that would take eight hours. But the thing is that really its surrounded by farms and too many towns still. If I'd like to get away from people I would have to go somewhere to like Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, or Alaska. Those are really the only places where there is ALOT of open space. The rest is sortof if you look at the right direction you can see a lot of stars and if you look like to the right of it you see a lot of light pollution:p which is due to skysrapers the highway, farms, retail, houses.
Really the land in the USA is spoiled and if it hasn't it soon will.
You guys are not good at sports? You guys beat the US hockey team. Sure you guys should BE ALOT BETTER at winter sports but hey thers a lot of competion. So its ok. Is IKEA finnish? |

I didn't mean we are bad in sports but we used to be even better so i surely hope we get gold in hockey again.. been so long since we've won and gold medal in the olympics is something to remember.
And IKEA is Swedish not Finnish. Close but not quite. ;) |
