I tried to make it clear that i didnt think all of us would stop listening to it, i was saying that quite a few of us will, and if you do think that everyone on this forum (including the chillout room people) will keep listening to trance until thier dead...well then i admire your optimism. :) But i think you have to admit, alot of people do change thier taste in music alot of times throught thier life.

of course people do change their tastes of music, l have changed it many times, l can listen to any types of EDM (eg. funky house, tehcno) and ROCK music, but trance firmly stays on top if it though! When l was younger l listened to rap, but it didnt last long..rap/hip-hop simply does not apeal to me as it appeals to some people. i dont have that attitude.

Wouldn't you care if you never got to go out clubbing because your friends were all into music you hate & vice versa?

I can listen to what I like in the confines of my own home without giving a , but I miss the freedom of being able to share music with friends, listen to it with others around or have conversations about it. All because I've never met anyone face to face who likes trance, or indeed any form of EDM (save a couple of hardhouse & DnB heads).

In short, I care about it. I've spent hundreds on train journeys meeting up with people from a trance-based messageboard just for the privilege of being around people of similar taste.

Hmhh strange that. There are lots of decent places in Bristol, Slinky and Scream are the mest well-known! And l know quite a few people from Bristol (they are at University here)who are actually into Trance, and they say it's bloomin in Bristol. U been to Slinky? U shud meet lots of people alike mate

Well I don't go with certain friends to their types of clubs because I cannot stand their music. Listen to what you like, don't go where they play stuff you don't.

Right. That's basically telling me not to do what I've already not been doing, for the same reason. I happen to find the situation annoying since I rarely get to go out because of it, that's all.

Is this the same Bristol? :haha:

I'm aware of Slinky & Scream yeah. I'd always thought they were more hard-dance orientated though, based on the lineups. There are a few other clubs in that vein around the centre I've seen advertised too but it's not really my thing to be honest. If you know of any other more trance orientated ones then I'm all ears! Hah.

This is amazing, priceless entertainment. I thank you, fellow TAs for that, especially sahand and those who were brave enough to argue with him... Jewels... And please stop comments about "intelligence" of these threads, I will be very upset if your comments will shut down some of these threads and derive me of this amusement.

Wait you're from manchester, and you say youve never met a trance fan?? i may just be a narrow minded canadian, but i thought that EDM was quite popular in the uk? I guess it might not be popular in some really small towns? I've never met a person who knows what trance is though... they usually dont get it when i call it electronic dance music, or electronica or anything like that...i always have to say "i like techno" and then they say something like "oh THAT stuff... so you do drugs? Dont you hear all that stuff on the news about ecstasy?"

its a diff style of music....its also a art...which v dnt like..but some like....same as their case ..they might not like trance...tatz it....so...just chill...!!!

Hip hop is dead last on my list of music genres.

Every time my brother puts that stuff on in my mom's car and I can't stand all the cursing that is being said.

Radio has been pretty dead in the last few years. No trance, just cheese. :( When am I going to move?

Icesotope
i remember Enimen's Without me being remixed into Drunkenmunkey's E and DJ Isaac's Nobody Listens to techno..

Well at least is way much better than that sickening Hiphopoten.
