Y is trance less popular than hiphop????? (pg. 4)

I dunno, i think this is a perfectly good question. in fact i was actually thinking about this same thing, but a little differently..
See when people say they "hate trance" and listen to Hip-hop (doesnt matter whether its the top 40 hip-hip like Nelly or the real underground hip-hop like Pharcyde)... if you break it down musically, its pretty much the same.
A 4/4 beat is what most music has (there might be some classical or some other type of music with 5/4 or 3/4 beat..there was a thread about this a while back but i cant remember)
All of us TA have rhythm and can hear that 4/4 beat (its not that hard!:haha: ) but you can hear the same 4/4 pattern in other genres (rap, rock, country etc)
I think if you can look past the popularity and vocals of hip-hop/rap as the reasons of disliking it, and focus on the music itself, you can see that Trance, hip-hop, rock etc.. all have a lot in common.
And i think its at this point where you can really call yourself an elitist (:thepirate ) for being able to appreciate music for what it really is.

all true ... but another point is hiphop/rap has lost its virtue ,,, i mean ,, look at the subjects ,,, DONT U JUST HATE TO C someone ,, lets say 50 cent , who used to be a criminal ,, on stage n getting paid millions for not even trying ,,, (TIS IS NOT JELOUSY PPL ITS THA TRUTH) .. its not hard ,, his lyrics r ,,, he's gonna look bak at himself n laugh ,, in a coupple of years ,,, |

Probably because most people tend to follow trends. There are very few that actually look further than their local radio station for quality music.
That goes for trance as well as for hiphop. I love listening to quality hip hop but you hardly find that on the radio. The same goes for trance. |

It bugs me when ppl hear electronic music briefly (like in a car next to them, etc) and comment about how it sucks because it's so repetitive when if you strip the lyrics out of any song you listen to it's going to be repetitive. |
