| oakenfold is always on the top in my eyes. he's very versatile, and that's what i love about the guy. you guys should check out his "Oakenfold Presents" show on party 93.1 if you can, he always plays great stuff on there. i have a few of his sets from earlier this year (Heineken Thirst tour) and they are amazing. |

I came across Oakie first in 1989 when he remixed Wrote for Luck for the Happy Mondays and subsequently produced the Madchester EP and Pill's, Thrills and Bellyaches. Select Magazine at the time called Oakenfold "more or less the architect of club culture as it stands today"
No one doubts that he was at the top of his game for more years than anyone else but he won't get back there with what he plays today. |

| Oakie deserves respect, but indeed he is not my favorite DJ these days. He spins with top quality but his track selection isn't always what I like. He is a legend, and for good reason. Just because you don't like what he plays now doesn't mean you can say he totally sucks. ...and I never really really got into Oakenfold, although he's still a pretty cool guy, just that I deeply respect him for what he's done for EDM. |

this MSN conversation i just had just about sums it up...
myra van buuren says:
maybe during summerfest we could throw a rock at Oakie's head, giving him some sort of reverse amnesia, resulting in him playing a set similar to what he played in 96 - 99
Nick (People can't be trusted.) says:
hahhaha that's a great idea
myra van buuren says:
lol i ain't kiddin... it might be worth the lawsuit
:wtf: |
