Uhm I would guess that would be nice... However,
Oakie has totally lost it.
In my opinion, his last compilation that was any good was another world, that album is truly amazing.
Have a look at this:

That pic is from when Oakey was touring with U2... I have a feeling U2 are the ones responsible for filling up the stadium like that. :D Those were pre Sir Tiesto In Concert days. :D

Sandstorm, did u ever have a look on your nickname??
I wonder if you did, why on earth are you talking about OAKIE like this.
Oakenfold, this guy SERVED music, I doubt anyone, I mean any trance addict ofcourse can live without his 98-2000 sets, I can't myself !
I still believe in the guy, and I still believe he can come back cz the guy simply is gifted and someone like him, it's not that difficult for him to come back to his form.
Meanwhile, my answer is YES, and I would be the happiest TA on earth. |

Without getting on a longass tangent here and hijacking this thread, let's just leave it to the fact that Oakenfold is DIVERSIFYING his genres... he didn't start out as a trance DJ and he probably won't end his career as a trance DJ.
Everyone knows he was mint 1998-2000. Would we like to see him on top again? YES, but the thing is... the music is different these days people. We all know he can mix (obviously...he's been doing this for years)... the question is, what will he mix? The style of trance is just different these days. Oh all the top DJs out there, I think maybe AVB is the closest to the Oakey of the "Golden Era" these days.

No ing way. Oakey was godly because his formatting and his track selection. Paul played tunes that grew on people, AVB just plays ch00ns that he knows people will love because it follows the same format as every other song on his ASOT show. The guy has no formatting whatsoever if you ask me.
Don't get me wrong, I love AVB and ASOT, but I'd much rather prefer Oakey's sets from his EM tour.
god damn...those are siiiiiiiiiiick. |
