| yes we all know that oakie was a trance god back in 98-00. the fact of the matter is that his taste in music just isnt what us TA's are really into. when oakie was at his pinnacle nobody could touch him. the fact of the matter is that he isnt there anymore. there was this one time that i will never forget that me and my friends were in the car listening to trance and my friend busts out a cd and says "prepare yourselves for the most powerful music in the world" it happened to be his EM set from the Rojan. So yes we would all like to see oakie back on top. but not in the form hes in now. he need to move back to that classic he used to spin b/c we all know that electronic music in general hasnt been the same as it was back then. it doesnt carry that special feeling you get when you hear that track drop. it actually makes me sad:( |

Imo Oakenfold was NEVER a trance dj. He was more of a "mc prog"(weak prog) dj, and threw in minimal trance. Markus Schulz seems to play exactly the same way. He plays his prog and throws some trance (andain/bt style) in once in a while. Right now both oakenfold and markus both drop a lot of the same tracks. People loved oakenfold because he would play all this prog stuff, then drop something like push, and it made him sound amazing, because hed play a lot of prog, then throw something fast down. Try it some time
ps-I wonder what the hardest track oakenfold ever droped was.
pss- can any one post a set of his that was more then 2 hours? |

yea figured about that. Its still composed of prog, minimal trance, and the 1 fast trancer, like most of his stuff.
