I can only say one thing: SURREAL!

I just woke up after a little 5 hour nap and I am still buzzing from the show! This was my first time seeing Tiesto live and I was not disappointed at all! The vibe was great, a little crammed but meh :toocool:

We ended getting right up to the stage front and it was soo awsome, the heat was just killer but Tiesto played an awsome set all night! by the end I was dead on my feet I have never partied so hard!

Here are some of my better pics:

Can anyone tell me if Tiesto played:

Filterheadz - Yimanya
Mojado - Senorita
Ton TB - Dream Machine (Marco V Remix)

I can't remember and I'm getting it confused with the set we listened to on the way home (TranceAirwaves 5-15-4) I must say an amazing set!!!

Besides Obsession, I don't recall him playing anything off of "In my Memory".

Seven of us made the journey from Kingston. We arrived at the GUV at around 10:30ish, the line wasn't bad at all. The first track that Mark Oliver spun was Oceanlab - Satellite, a great way to start off the night !!

I hardly get to see Mark Oliver, because I am in Toronto usually only for larger events. I think I have actually only heard him once before. I really enjoyed his set, I would like to go to the GUV on a regular saturday to see him, he really impressed me.

On the way I guessed that Tiesto's opener would be tear in the open, and his closer would be adiago. Well he opened with tear in the open, what a great way to start off a set. I loved the train sounds when Tiesto came on, they sounded very kool. Listening to the Just Be CD at home is home one thing, but hearing it from the person who created it, with the crowds energetic atmosphere, it was like hearing the tracks for the first time.

My fav tracks of the night were walking on clouds, love comes again, no one on earth, and inner warmth. I wouldn't say that Tiesto's set was exceptional, but it was enjoyable. It was lacking flow in my opinion, some parts just didn't fit together properly. Am I alone on this one? After Tiesto was finished around 4ish, I was happy to see Mark come back on. I stayed right until the end, he played silence, and this amazing Olive - Your not alone remix. A security guard turned on the lights immediatly after Mark was finsihed, and tried to kick us all out right after, screaming GET OUT and being all pushy and rude. Mark put another track on and turned out the lights and the security guard was so mad !! Did anyone else see this? It was priceless !! I don't like the security there at all.

The whistlers were on full force last night, they were everywhere. I told that one legendary whistler that there is a thread about him on here, and how much we hate him. Haha. He stopped whistling after that, probably not because of me though. I made a point to harass them all.

The crammed-ness, it wasn't that bad. I mean ya it was tight, but the crowd was so great, I didn't have a problem. I went in there picturing it to be worse to prepare myself! Towards the end of Tiesto's set it seemed a little more roomier. Talk about hotness....My Trance Energy shirt is ruined, its so dirty, it looks like I rolled around on the scummy guv floor, but I didn't.

The best part of the night was meeting the TOTA's. Durafei, whitey, tatgirl, rabbitjoker, misson control, the broad, many others, too many to mention. I also don't remember all of the names !! I must have met 20 TA's, where were the rest at?

HOLY that tracklist is INSANE..........I cant wait to see him @ Space next week!!!!!!

A lot of mindless people just chanting tiësto's name for no reason.

I was actually one of those people. So were some of my friends. However, it wasn't mindless. People were chanting his name a few minutes before he came on, which is pretty normal and shows that this crowd is ready to see Tiesto. People were also chanting Tiesto's name during his set, which isn't mindless either, since we wanted to show that we do appreciate the fact that he is spinning and we are enjoying his set.. If more people chanted his name I'm sure he would've spun longer, and played a better set.

Ok...just got to work about half an hour ago and since (as usual) there's not a whole lot to do I'm finally going to put up the proper review! :happy2:

I'm not even really sure where I should begin but the whole day yesterdy turned out just simply amazing for me! I think it's safe to say that everyone here knew how excited I was the whole week building up to the day, and when it finally came I was just going crazy. Anyway, the work day just COULDN'T go slow enough and I just couldn't wait for the night to come. As soon as I got home from work I realizing my new cell arrived - WOHOO...I'm thinking the day is getting better and better.

I was going nuts getting ready, putting up some finishing touches on my shirt. When I got ready to go, and literally had one foot out the door I hear MSN messages rolling in...usually I would just say screw it I'll get it later but for some reason I came back to my room to check them out - and boy am I glad I did...I WON THE VIP  After a rather interesting conversation with John on MSN I finally made my way down - the drive down on the DVP was smooth especially with a Tiesto set blasting from my speakers.

Outside the line was starting to build, the scalpers were going crazy, charging, 50, 60, and even 70 for the tickets. I met some of the TAs outside in the line - Nat, tha_broad, John and more and everyone was really excited - great atmosphere people seemed very happy and excited (except those who had to pay $60 for their ticket :stongue: )

I walked in though the DELUXE lounge - really nice space but I didn't enjoy the crowd too much cause really that's not what I was there for. I enjoyed the view for a bit and headed straight down to the dancefloor. Lots of room at first, and Mark dropping some INSANE tracks...Mark Norman - Rush, Satellite and so many more I knew this was going to be a great night :D

Headed straight down to the stage (as usual) and claimed my spot right next to it. I was trying to look out for the TOTA *HEART* Tiesto sign but I couldn't see it anywhere, where were you guys? The only thing I saw was a Canadian flag with TIESTO written on it. By the time I got there I got so many compliments and questions about my shirt I felt like an attention whore myself :haha:. Next to the stage I met a few more TAs...wesjor and her frined (and I'm so sorry but I'm terrible with names) and a few more. Moments later all the Kingston crew showed up with DVD2004 PartEgurl and more. Thanks to the lil logo on the front of my shirt - "DJ Tiesto is my god" - every TA knew who I was. I kept meeting people and everyone was very excited - great vibe indeed. As the time came closer and closer to 1 (as usual) we were starting to feel the crazy heat in the place and everyone trying to push forward towards the stage. I think the TAs did a really good job of "securing" our spot in the front and not let anyone push us out.

Jimmy the whiste dick was present :whip: We all gave him a few dirty looks and even though he was annoying as hell he seemed to have been on his good behaviour more or less - much better than before at least, maybe he started getting the clue?

The chants were going strong by then, TIESTO TIESTO TIESTO TIESTO and as he walked up on stage just slightly past 1am, I have never heard the crowd go THAT crazy and THAT loud. People were screaming SO hard I thought someone was being killed back there it was rediculous, I think you could see by his face he was caught a bit off guard with so much insanity.

Started off as expected with "A tear in the open", other tracks I can remember are - Whiter Room, that crazy Dallas4PM vs Obsession that Durafei mentioned, crayons, Adagio for strings, Just Be (OMG OMG OMG THANK YOU!), Are you a freak, who's the starter, Lightscape - Inner Warmth, Walking on Clouds (the place went crazy), Love Comes Again, Nyana, Evanescence - Hello, ATN - Miss a day, Forever today, and so many more older stuff towards the end which was just an excellent way to finish it off.

I was doing my best to make sure that he sees my shirt and he saw the front within the first 5 minutes of stage, his reaction was a bit funny, kind of like - huh?!? then quickly followed by a surprised look, and then quickly followed by him laughing at it and giving me the thumbs up. Later on in the show I managed to get him to look at the back as well with which he was even more impressed.

I would have to honestly say that towards the end he seemed REALLY tired and almost pushing himself on, he wasn't his crazy energetic self that he usually is (towards the end that is), but with all that I would have to say that he was really great with the people upfront. If I was Tiesto I'd be a lil scared of me (stalker :nervous: ) but instead he was really friendly, always smiled, and he was doing the same to all the people around me - and I would definitely have to say thanks for that.

As some of you know I brought a copy of Kane - Rain down on me (Tiesto Remix) for him to play as some have asked. I showed him the record right at the start, he looked at it and he said he'll play it but I had no way of giving it to him he couldn't reach it...so I did some work and got on stage, only to find one of the promoters (I think) decided that the stage is a private party for his friends only and said I can't go any further...I was like :wtf:...anyway I told him about the record and he said he'll give it to him to play, and well, obviously as you know he didn't and I never got my record back :whip: So I'm really sorry that that didn't work out but now I've lost my record too...ugh!

Towards the end, in his customary way Tiesto signed his headphones and threw them out to the crowd...I don't know what I was thinking taking pictures of him throwing them because they landed RIGHT nex to me (I'm an idiot)...insted my friend (who's name I won't mention for his safety reasons :stongue: ) caught them...damn lucky bum, but right after that Tiesto signed a record and threw it to me from the stage - so that was very special cause it was kind of personal. I guess that's why I just said I'm the only one who got the record but I guess RJ got his stuff signed later too. I was a little surprised that he didn't come out to the crowd to shake hands/sign stuff but there were quite a few freaks out there (me included) so I guess I could understand - but still that sucked!

All throughout the set there were 2 or 3 guys next to us chanting a song from In My Memory that he never played, but they chanted it for every song he played so that was a little annoying - but then again I guess I'm already used to the stupidity of some people...I've come to expect everything negative that was going on so I guess it didn't bother me as much as it did some others...I knew it would be hot, I knew it would be packed, I knew there'll be morons there and I also knew that i'm there to have a good time and nothing could change that!

So that's my essay for this time folks, I feel sorry for you if you made it this far :stongue:

Mark Oliver - 10/10
Tiesto - 10/10
Crowd - 9/10 (my friends and TAs made it all amazing)

Overall an unforgettable experience and another great night at the Guv!
Pictures will be posted later on today, I have many ;)

OMG What a nite!!! :eyespop: :eyespop:

We got to the Guv around 10ish....in by 11 at the latest....first good moment of the night was seeing Tiesto's stage set in the back left corner.

We made out way to the front of the Tiesto's stage about 20 min before he came on. Set started with A TEAR IN THE OPEN I believe from his new album...the crowd went crazy!!! The chanting was just the right amount....downside to the night was the whistle blower at the end of the stage for most of the night....SOOOOO annoying.

Tiesto played for about 3 - 3 1/2 hrs. When he finished Mark Oliver came back to end the night...and he did playing classics like Burned With Desire. I danced my ass of from start to finish

As for the guy that caught the headset...Im sooo jealous but thanks for letting me wear em and get my pic with them on. :D (will post pic later after much needed sleep)

Highlights: - meeting fellow TA's (StarSearcher, DJ Ampz, Durafi, the guy who caught the headset (sorry I forget ur name :( ), Ali, and some others I am probably forgetting)
- hearing No One On Earth - Above & Beyond (G&D)
- wearing Tiesto's headset

Disapointments: - Whistle blowers (errrr)
- not getting to hear Flight 643 after he teased us with it
- Tiesto not playing an encore

Well I am off to bed.....see you all at PVD!!!! :D :D
St_Andrew
wow, seems to have been quite a party :D:D:D
