| Reading 75% of this thread, I have to say I'm shocked to see people's attitudes here. Man, not naming any names, but some of you need to get off the internet and go out and socalise. I'm reading people hating on football matches, which we are SO fortunate to have here in North America seeing such talent grace our turf, as well as people saying how they leave Toronto because of Caribana? , of course there's gonna be some rotten apples in the crowd, but damn some of you guys really need to remove that stick from your ass and learn how to have a good time. It's attitudes like this that hinders the development of a social scene in North America. |

Actually, Festivals Ontario is an organization that focuses on smaller, community events. You won't find any of the Top 5 Festivals in Ontario on that list. |
Isn't that veerd?
Why would the Pride parade be listed then? |

Good question. Until fairly recently (1997-98) Pride Week was a small event. It totally took off and in a single year went from having 40,000 people to almost 300,000. (This year it had about 1.1 million). Festivals Ontario never kicked Pride Toronto off their list (although i don't think Pride really particpates, either) |

1) I know some people find it sexy. All the power to them.
2) I know any eating disorder is a mental disease, I made a bad comment I retracted it. Dont get offended so easily.
3) I know they dont dress for me. I dont care if they dress for me. I dont expect them to dress for me. I expect them to dress for their lttle daughters and sisters who are mimicking them at ages 4 and 5 trying to look all skanky.
4) what i posted is MY PERSONAL OPINION about how I feel when I see it, and I KNOW im not the only one. Dont harp on me because my opnion is not THE SAME AS YOURS. We arent all robots programmed to think alike. |
Don't get your panties in a bunch...
Oh yeah and the kids who dress skanky are mimicking what they see on MTV not their parents. I mean since when did you want to look like your mom? If anything kids try to dress as far away from their parents as possible. |

| I haven't read all the posts, but it seems nobody's separating the official party from the 'side-parties'. I have nothing against people participating in the actual parade event, and i doubt there are many incidents during it. What i do HATE are all the side events and after parties that some attend...and by that i mean driving up and down Yonge a million times all night to show off ur ghetto-fab rims and jewellery and camcorders b/c ur too cheapass to pay for a hotel or b/c u just came for that---showing off. This is the crowd that's a pain in the ass for everyone...and yes, if ur a lady, u dont want to be walking down the street b/c you'll DEFINITELY get ur booty shot on cam the whole way down the street (b4 anyone says im generalizing, im NOT) by at least one camera. Where u have showing off, u have attitude. The violence statistics on the event probably dont include the after parties, but im not sure about that i'll admit it. Anyways, the parade and festivities are great, it's just the showoffs who ruin the image of the event for everyone else ... |
