This earnings gap widens even further with average annual earnings: women working full time, full year in 2001, for example, pulled in only 72% of what their male counterparts did."

Just because women make less than men, doesn't mean that women make less than men for the same job. Wrong stat Silke :D .
Even though this thread has really gone off on a tangent, I think we all collectively agree that men shouldn't be expected to pay for the date. I don't see anyone agruing otherwise. Now we're just arguing about inequalities in the workplace. :p |

you can't take average income to indicate that women are earning less. you have to take men and women on the same job, same qualifications etc. |
i understand your point but tell that to StatsCan. it's not my research. ;) |

"Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. 14% of people know that." - man wiser than me said that once :) |

Thanks for defending me Dave ! :D |
hahaha!! Dave the Defender!! ...
well, anyhow, perhaps you should portay what u say differently cos this is the impression i got from your choice of words!
"My boyfriend pays for everything, and I mean everything!! He won't even let me pay for starbucks! Every dinner, movie, everything. I offer to pay, he won't let me at all.
quite the emphasis, no? it makes it look like you don't have a choice ... that's what i'm saying!
BUT on a more positive note, - if you're truly happy with your relationship as you say, i'm happy for you! sorry for the misunderstanding. ;) |
