I am feeling pretty stupid right now... I've never noticed that there was a gaming section here before! That's awesome! Trance + video games = bliss. :haha:
Anyway, this game is definitely my video game obsession right now, and my main char is Alahra, a lvl 56 (near 57) night elf hunter on the Dalaran server. A buddy and I seem to have a race to get to 60, and are both neck-and-neck, so I'll probably be hitting 60 by sunday, the way things are going. I'm quite excited! Might I add that I'm very surprised at how the money started flowing in once I hit 55 (I made about 65g just in gold over the weekend, and found two blue items that I'll be putting up this weekend that together seem to be about 50-80g). Gotta get that epic!
About the non-combat pets, I know of a few places off-hand where you can get them. At the ram ranch near Ironforge (where dwarves get their ram mounts) there is a bunny vendor if you'd like a bunny, and in Darnassus near the entrance there is an owl vendor, and near the entrance to Northshire from Elwynn there is a "crazy cat lady" where you can buy cats. One pet that you can only get through a quest is the dragon sprite (my pet!) which are like the flying units from w3, if you ever played that and played as night elves. Also, from a cave in north Burning Steppes there is a goblin that will give you pets as quest rewards, but they are in Blackrock spire, so I don't have any experience with that yet and can't really comment further on it (I just read the description of the quest and moved on because I didn't have much space in my quest log).
Well, since I have found this new place described as where to post about my two biggest obsessions (music and video games) I thought I'd say a big hello, and if anyone else plays on Dalaran, feel free to look me up! I'm always up for helpin out or just messin around. |

Hey hey Akkare, whats going on? I havent been on the gaming forums in awhile. Good to see you posting. Seems the WMC threads are finally dying down and TA is back to its normal self.

Who here actually play anything but night elfs or alliance. On the pvp server i have found alliance to be very poor combatant. Druids just spam moonlight, and any other class just run to friends if it looks like you are winning.
Anyone play horde....at al? |

On our server zenedar, european one, if you kill an alliance in a head to head fight, he comes back with 3 friends. Its just sad that they are such poor combatants like that. Obviously i can't speak for everyone member of allianec, but this is my general opinion from what i have experieced. All the kiddies want to play the good guys, without even have read the lore first. |

statistically, on most servers, the alliance outnumbers the horde greatly. On my old server it was 3:1 I believe. But that is why it is kind of fun to be horde, since you get to fight some people on the alliance that are really pathetic at PvP, although I'm sure we have some bad people as well. Personally, I've taken 2 level 60's, but with the help of a Mage friend, we've taken 4. The trick is to just be prepared for the worst, and don't be afraid to run if they numbers are against you. Also, you don't take item damage in PvP, so being ganked isn't really a great inconvenience besides perhaps the annoyance of a corpse run and if they decide to corpse camp.

On Bronzebeard, Horde is terrible. It's really quite funny because it seems as thought the only thing they have mastered in PvP is the art of retreating. Granted, I have met some Horde who seem to know what they are doing, but the ONLY times I've been killed in my numerous raids have been those times where the horde has bundled together in 6+ people and just absolutely slap the out of me fast.
It's hilarious to pick out the people who just DO NOT know what they are doing - I'm sure it's the same for both sides though hehe
Admittedley though, I've not raided Orgrimmar or Undercity or anything like that - just Tarren Mill, and a swift sweep across the Undead lands - I also helped defend a stupid raid on Ironforge once, but the horde showed up in so many numbers, it seemes as though they were trying to deliberately bring down the server (which they did) more than actually get anything accomplished. I've taken countless level 60s out, just as a few have managed to bring me down - but it's not really about revenge. Someone who gets ganked and brings their friends to help get revenge is a moron. :p
Characters, no matter how good the player is, are powerless when it comes to numbers - just 2 or 3 people can easily take 1 with overwhelming odds and alacrity, no doubt about it. |
