why not listen to asot for free?
Joost
Come on, Armin's gotta eat too man ;-)

Nah, just kidding. I don't think it's wrong to sell ASOT compilation cd's. People who want to listen to ASOT for free can always pick a episode up from the net whenever they want. When you buy an ASOT cd, you pay for

- cd quality tracks
- better mixing
- producing
- jewel case + covers

etc.

For me, it's still a special thing to have all those popular tracks bundled in one, well mixed and well mastered album. Something i will still listen to with a nostalgic smile in a few years. :)

So, in your opinion, what should an compilation mix album offer, should you be willing to pay for it?

popular tracks is questionable :toothless
But I like things that are different. The GU cds are never really a let down. I like tracks that I can't hear every day. And I love extreamy good mixing. And good basslines are always nice.
Joost
You can't deny these tracks aren't popular.

Scooter - One is also popular, although I'm sure most people on this forum (including me) think that Scooter should be publicly executed ("Always Hardcore" gimme a break man  )

I think you mean "Global Underground" by GU? I have to admit I've never checked out that range of cd's yet, i will do it soon.

:haha: :D missing out...

Interstate - I Found You
Nu Frequency – 808

thoes are probably the most popular... Interstate being the only one ranked #1 for a while...

but even that doesn't guarentee that they are the best tracks...

Max's mix of 12 or cosmic strings probably my favs
Joost
I was aiming more at UR 2004, that one is full of floorfillers, heard every track of that albums at least 20 times. Apart from that album :P

Active Sight - Out Of Our Lives
Armin Van Buuren vs. M.I.K.E. - Intruder

i love thoes live

I just bought it today, its pretty good, but there are only 13 tracks on both CDS!??!?! Where is Active Site and Massive motion? The mix between Frist time and Gone is damn good.

**EDIT**

WTF why did the US version get cut up. It is missing 5 songs? What is the reason for this?

Then they wonder why americans download so much trance cause we get pissed on by the industry, now its not only 50 dollar import charges but now cut up . Its really pathetic what they did with this cd. At the end if the two 13 songs it fades out! How ty is that. The song doesnt even end. This must also mean (havnt chencked it out yet) that the CDs are alot shorter than the 80 min. Serioulsy was there any reason for this....?!
