I think the problem with this (as well as Universal Religion and most of Armin's recent sets) is that he's opening with progressive and then slamming into uplifting/epic trance. I don't think this works at all. There's plenty of ways to work those tracks in a better order. I think this'd work much better with a nice long trancey intro and working into a few vibey, more uplifting tracks and then into the mcprog, then onto tech/uplifting again. Just my $.02. I know that my opinion means nothing, but seeing that this will just follow the same formula is kind of disappointing.
Reactic
will definitely get it, looks more promising than miami '05.
Feador
hope this is much better asot 2004, which was kinda disappointing for me. Any release date?

A good dj should be able to put ambient, prog, techno, tech trance, epic trance on a cd....

imo that is why armin is crap. He doesnt have "the flow"(no better word to discribe the feeling).

I know pauls cd is going to go from house & prog (tilt/may/wow'ish kind of stuff) to straight up techno(liebing) with melodic uplifting in the middle (freefall, summer dreams)

It seems as though armin randomly chose 3X tracks for the album, not really putting much thought into it, just mixing random tracks, which seems to be the pattern in his live sets as well, with no overall direction. Like ive heard times, where he has "built" some energy, but loosing it to some crap prog/horrible trance track.

It seems as though you're going out of your way to try and convince people armins crap sandstorm03, so much interest in a thread about an album you think isn't very good.

Fact of the matter is you probably haven't heard half the tracks on it yet, let alone how they're mixed, so you might want to reserve judgement till then. But seeing as its plainly obviously armin isn't your style or 'flow' for you personally it wouldn't be surprising if your opinion stood.

By all means your entitled to it, and your own tastes (it would be a very boring world if we all had the same tastes in music and djing!), however, I take offence at comments calling this a 'cash grab' for armin.

Armin is one of the nicest and honest guys in the business, he's taken a bit of a risk with this album and he sure as hell didn't just randonmly select a load of tracks together but put a lot of effort into this doing HIS own thing.

First you say anyone can mix this, then when its pointed out he's doing things a little different with ableton live, all of a sudden he's not keeping it real because he hasn't used 100% edits like Sasha, gimme a break!.

As for armin live, whenever I've been in a club like Turnmills or festival like Global Gathering he's taken the roof off with his excellent sets. But hey, like you say, he's just not your cup of tea eh :)
