Hi!

Only a bar/lounge to take 1-2 Cocktails with a good view over the city :)
Chaska
There are also a few places in Brooklyn in dumbo with the skyline of Manhattan, very nice view.

Can you advise me a good Cocktail-Bar or Chillout-Bar? I read that there is one in the GE-Building (Top of the Rock). Or is there any other better one? Must be very spectecular :D

lobby lounge @ the mandarin-oriental in columbus circle has nice views.

since you're coming from out of town, try hitting up some of the 'secret-ish' speakeasy joints; well-made cocktails and gimmicky ambiance make up for the lack of skyline vistas. and you'll feel like a cool kid for having found them.

thanks for your recommendations. 1 day left. cant wait :D

Maybe I need another recom:

We will arrive at JFK. I booked a transfer with "Super Shuttle" but I read in the internet, that this would be one of the worst ideas to travel with.

my plan: AirTrain to Howard Beach Station, then A-Line 8 ave express to broadway-nassau-fulton st and then the lexington ave express to grand central. How long does this trip take?

I read a taxi costs about $45+toll charges

Our Hotel is the Radisson Lexington at Lexington Ave/48th St. Would be okay to arrive at Grand Central and walk the rest.

And we are leaving at EWR-Newark. Best way to get to New Jersey-Newark? Taxi?

take the NJ transit from Penn Station for EWR it takes about 30mins and leaves u on the air port. costs about $8

and if u wanna check out some nice bar with nice views of the city try "Waters Edge" and "230 5th"

thank you!

We just arrived a few hours ago.

We took SuperShuttle because they were at the entrance to the terminal... and it took about 1,5 hours from jfk to lexington ave/48 st. via queensboro bridge. traffic jam deluxe! Next time we will use the train.

The flight back will be from newark, I think we will take a taxi then.

Thanks again for all your recoms.

Take the Metro-North into Grand Central. Don't know white plains, but most likely you'll have to take a cab from the airport to the Metro-North.

We take the NJ Transit from Penn Station. 3rd Stop, then AirTrain. Took about 50 Minutes to EWR from Midtown Manhattan and 22 Mins from Penn Station to EWR. Really Cool hint, thank you coolestrl :) BTW: costs $15

Really amazing. You leave the train-tunnel on the new jersey-side and you cant see any building from manhattan.

We enjoyed our trip. Bought a lot of stuff at Oakley Soho, Esprit 5th ave, Apple store, levis... and of course sightseeing en mass... :D

This was the 2nd time Ive been there in my life - both times happened this year. I think I will be back soon - maybe for a 3-day stay next year....

Hey guys. Me and the g/f will be visiting NY from the 10th-16th of November. I was looking at the party planner and I didn't see too many events posted for that time frame that I was interested in except for the Paco Osuna event. But in any case I wanted to know the local gems in regards to

-Dining
-Bars
-Clubs(Techno, House)
-Random to do
-Boat Parties(if any)
-How to get to atlantic city
-Stuff worth visiting

I've been to NY before and I have gone to most of the regular tourist places, etc but she has never gone so what do you guys recommend. We are staying in a hotel in the upper west side of Manhattan I believe.
So yeah just wanted to know what local bars, restaraunts, etc to go to and which ones to avoid. Also what is the best way to get around? Last time I remember riding the subway a lot before 9pm and after it was usually taxi. Also which places should I avoid(dangerous) and just general tips for walking around in the city. Thanks guys. By the way if you see these two walking around times square like a couple of idiots don't hesitate to point us in the right direction.

What's a good location to stay near the boutique shops selling unique young street style fashion and the tech-house/prog record stores? Any hotel recommendations for this week/next week?

EDIT: Well i booked 7 nights at 60 Thompson in SOHO, hope it's good :)
