FINALLY - Paul VAn Dyk A World Class Dj Speaks Out His Mind
View this Thread in Original format

This is a recording of a recent interview PVD did. I think it is completely an awesome interview and i am pleased to see Djs starting to speak their mind and show their thoughts about the music they love.

"If you look around, like some of my colleagues, they do things that, you know, I would hope music would never have to go through. I mean this music is not done for some cheesy concert , with some magician playing stuff, or some weird Mickey Mouse bull; this music is done for like clubs, it's done for events where people go out and want to listen to their music; and this is what music actually should be like." - Paul van Dyk

What do you mean finally? He has been speaking his mind for years. And this interview was already posted ages ago.

Ummm kind of hard to be posted ages ago if the interview was done just at the begining of March but either way i apologise if it made you upset oh thy supreme tranceaddict. And this is the first time PVD has really been this straight forward, any other time he has done a interview he plays the ' oh we are all proffesionals lets all get along' routine.

As much as I hate Paul's cheesy and commercial side (love the rest :p ), he's right. Tiesto is going way over the top.

To be honest i dont think PVD has much of a cheesy side. I mean look at Oakenfold and the crappy stuff he did with that whole CLub tv show. Tiesto doing concerts with choirs and WTF is that all about? The only commercialism i have heard or seen from PVD is the Motrolla commercial he did.

:D Ya know, the vocal tracks he puts on his cd's I have to agree. Don't do anything for me. But how he incoorporates these types of tracks in the club is just amazing. Maybe the way he is mixing it, I dunno. But it works! :)
