I'm not trying to defend Tiesto, but did you see some of his latest shows? He plays some sick tracks that people (even Chris) can't ID. What's that? the old tracks? I doubt it. Yeah, Adagio for Strings was played and overplayed by every DJ I have recently seen starting with Oakey and finishing Armin. Oakey actually always plays Tiesto songs and we all know why - because the crowd goes nuts.
Well, I'm not a pro and i'm too recent in trance world so i can't say what Tiesto was back in late 90's (some of my friends called him "A shy giant"). You might like him then or now, but i have no choice, i can see only what he does right now. Somebody asked me today "So, if you know Tijs and care about him, do you know when was the last time he produced his own song?" And you know what i said "I DO NOT CARE". He is a DJ and if he spins great tunes making my ass move - result achieved. Whose tracks he is playing i don't care. SMB said that he can't match the beats of his own productions - well, it's sad because if he is a pro and "so far" #1 he better do his job on the level of DJ #1 but I wouldn't hear that match anyway.
What we all have to thank him - for doing so much in different areas, including his show in Disneyland. I wish he (or somebody else) could do more things like this.

Sounds like you're defending him to me and i say hear hear!
As long as the man keeps pumping out such incredibly mind bending tracks i could give a damn what audience he plays for.

Indeed, god forbid someone should like something you don't and have the cheek to talk about it. How dare they.... right???

Why pay thirty bucks to see Tiesto play the same tracks every other ing n00b DJ plays, when he could just aswell play fresh and varied stuff (since he's one of few who actually has access to it)? Listen to what you're saying. Sheesh.

LMFAO, look at the previous track listings. Are all those tracks ones that "every other ing n00b DJ plays"?? Some of them are, yes, but not all them are. The bottom line is there is a hell of alot of people who love what he plays even if you think it's the same tracks every other ing noob DJ plays. You think he's just going to dump his whole record box out and change all of his sets so he can play new and fresh stuff?? People come and see him expecting Adagio, Traffic and all the new hot tunes everyone else is playing b/c all they want to do is dance and not moan about how he played that tune in 6 of his last 7 sets and he needs to get new material. To put it bluntly he's making money off of what he's doing and making people happy while he does it. If people hated what he was doing so much no one would see him and he'd have to change his set-lists to fix it. This was what I was driving at in my previous post.

I see. We're different then, because I would not pay top dollar to see a DJ who can't mix and has a mediocre track selection.
