Anyone have any suggestions on cheap apartments in the city? (...not Southside though ... I'm a scared white kid from the burbs)

I'm basically looking for an apartment (not a studio), I don't want roommates either (plus I don't know anyone in the city) AND to top that off, I only make $9.00 working a job ... so anyone know of any good places?

(I'm attending the art institute, this fall or spring, not sure - might go to art institute of schaumburg, out here in the burbs, then transfer to chicago -- I just moved in with family here in Illinois, I'm originally from outside Denver).

Thanks.

Cheapest apartments you could possibly conceive of will be at least 500$ and it will be a tiny studio and that's not counting utilities.

9$/hour * 40 hours * 4 weeks = you're looking at $1440 before taxes every month.

not gonna happen.

Mmm... pick up a second job or settle for a studio.
Welcome to Chicago. :)

SO cheap living outside of Denver, my rent is $350 a month, that's for an apartment with bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room, etc.

But anyways maybe city job pays better than suburb.

My one bedroom in ATL is 900 a month and we paid 900 for a two bedroom in Valpo. Id kill for that kind of rent.

Maybe you should start considering the south side. Rent will be cheaper, and its not like its hell. Go White Sox.

Sorry buddy, but living in this city on that kind of income won't even get you a decent studio apartment, at least on the north side. mabey if you go on the west side, like 6500 West of the city, you might find something for yourself, but I doubt it. What you need in a job that pays more.
