I think he apexed with In Search of Sunrise 3 and after Nyana, in my opinion, two things happened:
1. Lost his affinity to spin basically any good melodic/progressive. In Search of Sunrise 3 rules!:) He just seems so consistently hard trance now (just not my thing).
2. Paul Oakenfold syndrome. A "music for the masses" type DJ. I don't doubt his ability or his marketing abilities, but I HATE that I have to pay $45 or more to see him now, only to be trampled by a mob. Unfortunately, Armin is also becoming quite expensive to see, but at least he spins consisently amazing tracks:) (BTW, I listened to "Boundaries of Imagination" the other day--CLASSIC!) |
I take point no. 1 back. In Search of Sunrise 4 delivers, great double CD, and I love that he put Tilt - Twelve (Dousk remix) on there--awesome mix! Thanks goodness it wasn't like Parade of the Athletes. |
