City Councillor calling for closure of after hours clubs! (pg. 4)

This is what happens when society lets things slide.
"i dont own a pitbull so sure lets ban them"
"i dont smoke so lets ban smoking"
"i dont go to afterhours so lets ban afterhours"
See the connection? Now you know why even though i dont own a pitbull or smoke i am against letting the government have this kind of power over us. Because eventually it comes back to bite us. |

Perhaps it would make sense to contact councillors who might be sympathetic to our concerns and discuss the matter with them. I'm sure they'd be able to point us in the right direction to making sure that this does not get out of hand.

| They should perhaps talk to the cops that work in the club district every weekend,they know better then everybody else that all the that goes there is not because of after hours. But as you said it earliar politicians are stupid,so to them edm and hiphop are the same and both music attracts thugz and guns :rolleyes: |

| i wouldnt start contacting politicians yet because if they see this as a passionate issue it will only encourage them to push it further. Lets wait and see how it pans out first. Its all about strategy when dealing with politicians. |

If the nightclub scene in Toronto shuts down, then the city will loose too many tax-paying businesses. They can't just shut every1 down at 2am... it's insane.
What pissed me off the most is how it's all based on that happens around the thugs that goto hip-hop clubs. You'd never hear of such crap from a place like Boa or System soundbar. thugs don't last in nightclub beyond 2am anyways, so we're the innocent ones that have to miss out on the fun because the government is ignorant!?!?!?! it's wrong! it's bull!
I would march into city hall right away! |

Chances are that since he brought it up he doesn't really care what you think - saying he's wrong (and coming from a partier) may just inspire him to try harder and push this through...

i honestly don't think this councillor's views will have a far reaching effect on the scene .. it's just a knee jerk reaction like Robby G. said ..
and in the event that something actually does come about .. Arson will be our answer.
