I'm prolly gunna get a lot of for this...
but I'm gunna have to admit, Armin just isn't my style anymore... I used to love his sets and listen to him non-stop in the
Despite this, I had a great time. Best clubbing/raving/event experience (for the people) I've ever had (and I've been clubbing around the US). The TA community is just great, all of you kick ass... ALL of you! :) I really hope I can continue enjoying the music scene experience with all of you while I'm here for the summer... In case any of you who met me forgot who I am... I was the guy w/ glasses and the black shirt that said "buddha" in yellow outline letters... I'm kinda quiet (as Yan said), but still... :toothless

distante (new TA) made that ASOT 200 card that I showed you when you were on line to the bathroom, remember? Unfortunately, I wasn't able to give it to Armin because I bailed too early.

hey i said hi to bunch of people.... but no one seems to remember that i did... :( . remember seeing alyssa and drew, jen, liz, brian, sal, dan, mike, met serge for the first time, and maybe some other people...
oh wellll..... it was a pretty good set, really liked the tracks that some people already listed, and one that no one's mentioned was Way Out West - Don't Forget Me (WOW's Dustbiter Remix)
also handed armin my latest production with partner andru c. we really have confidence in this one... so hopefully it'll turn out good... (our last talks with markus schulz and our other track "morning haze" went completely sour).
hope to seem some of yall at club b1 tonite for powerstar im's b-day. it has a pretty good lineup... so definitely wanna check it out.

hahahha nice. Everyone...that was awesome! It was so great to finally meet a lot of you. It's so much more enjoyable when you have a bunch of ppl on the dancefloor that you know:D Thinking back, last night sure made for some great stories. Hope to see everybody again soon!! |

Seriously dude, there was at point last nite where I thought I was gonna go deaf, and that happens 2 me everytime I go 2 spirit, next time I'm gonna get some ing earplugs........oh by the way , Armin ing ruled last nite... |

you should ALWAYS wear earplugs.. (all of you!)
i cannot believe i ended up at armin yesterday-- it was seriously the last place i thought i would end up!!! suprisingly i had a pretty good time tho, seeing a lot of old friends and older TAs made my night.. first night i closed out in a LONG time... damn!! :wtf: :happy2: |

last nite was a bit disappointing, i have to say. As noted before, Armin was late and only started spinning at 3:45am. By that time, most of my excited mood had faded away along with cusick's ty music. Sorry if i spelled that guy's name wrong, but either way he was the one right before armin, spinning for about 3 hours, and he sucked big balls. I knew maybe 2 of the tracks he played, the rest being ty first-timers for me ... and not a single track had a nice melodic progression to it, 95% of them were single-keyed hard pounders. So finally armin shows up and gives us a nice break with the melodic and uplifting love theme dusk. That was a nice one, along with other tracks in his set like perfect silence, shivers, and netherworld 2005. But he also spun a bunch of real loud, kinda hard that's filled with big saw synths and hard percussions - not exactly my type. It seems the trance scene has really moved past me because I'm still stuck back in the era of melodic uplifting quality trance, not the new direction of harder, fred baker-type pulsing trance. The last amazing set I've been to was by Thrillseekers back in 2003 at the Popsikle rave in california, and that was a dream. Ever since then, the music i've been hearing from other dj's has come short in my mind. Hopefully one of these days i'll end up at an event where the dj plays the type of trance that used to rule before the harder stuff came along :rolleyes:

during the mixout of Language, the high range was drowning out the melody, you really couldnt hear it. so i told armin to turn down the highs, and the rest of the set sounded MUCH better, you could actually make out the high and high-mid range. :P |

I had a really great time. The 2 janitor-looking DJs in the beginning tried really hard to make it a bad evening but it just couldn't be done, Armin was just too good. I really liked around 6 this morning when the palce basically emptied out - it was so much more private - he played iio -rapture (avb remix) which was really cool, and then tons of others that i never heard before but liked.
haven't been to too many events and i'm glad that this was my first one with a really good DJ - i think it's the best way it could have ended up.
PS it was nice to meet all of you last night! Hope to see you at some more events! |
