Well Mel.. this will start a "It's Bush's fault that New Orleans is poor" argument.. so, its a no win situation. I mean, I guess Louisana started to be a poor state when Bush took over. I guess it hasnt been one of the poorest states in the nation for the past 30+ years.

any democrat thinking of running for president for '08 should get their ass over to the gulf, put on boots and help.... convert some republican states by actually showing some initiative with 2 hands :p

If people couldnt afford to leave town... then they had a LAST RESORT shelter called the Superdome.. so thats no excuse.

new orleans is not as prepared for a major hurricane like south florida. most of these people had no clue what was going to happen. if katrina had hit here as a cat 4 or 5, i bet you 90% of the problems that arose in new orleans would not have happened here (and not just cuz of the flooding). simply because people here know how to deal with hurricanes. most people would of had atleast a 2 week supply of canned goods and clean drinking water and that would of allowed for enough time for the government to get here and help.

and the superdome was not a good shelter. before the storm even hit i heard on the news "we think it'll hold up." THINK?! YOU ING THINK?! if you're gonna put that many people in there, you better be ing CERTAIN that it'll hold up. and it obviously didnt hold up cuz of the that broke and all that crap.

blah to ing politcal discussions on ta. this is so gay. and i'm so done with this.

this country sucks, and this is just another example of why i cant wait to get the out asap.

Whatever... this argument could go on and on.. so believe what you want.

How can you be sure he did? I never ONCE said I believed Moore. I personally think the media is conniving, & they love to contradict
themselves.

I am not a Bush supporter, THAT alone is where I get my feelings from & from things I've read/seen THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH MOORE OR THE "LEFT WING MEDIA"

(yeah I'm sure the US would have a lot more ing money if it weren't all being wasted on this POINTLESS war...LOOK AT THE ING INFLATION...)

i cant tell you how many ing times i saw on the weather channel (before katrina hit)..."THIS WILL BE A CATASTROPHE." i'm no meterologist, but i think i know storms pretty damn well and i knew this was going to happen. they talked about new orleans being below sea level being a problem for atleast a full day all over the news before the storm hit. how come it took bush THREE ING DAYS to get off his ass and realize there was a problem.

so.. what exactly should the local and state governments supposed to do?? just sit there and let Bush do everything?

Look.. this argument could go on for days and days... but you dont see these problems happening in Mississippi and Alabama do ya?.. and the reason.. because the local and state government prepared for this... unlike Louisana.
are you ing serious with your posts?

people dont think? people got stuck in the city because they couldnt get out or didnt have the means. im sorry but im sure a bunch of the poeple that are there could not find a way out. sure couple of people stayed to ride it out or for fun but MOST DIDNT for the thrills of it dont be such an idiot

the superdome u talk about didnt hold the capacity they were expecting. not due to lack of space BUT because they wernt allouing poeple in and those were the poeple u saw outside. after a while they decided to go to other places and some of htem got stuck in the floods that came days after the hurricane passed

goverments ARE supposed to get help from the goverment. trust me they did all the could. what the do you think the cops are doing there? getting a tan. goverment is working but its nearly impossible to prepare for such thing. what should of theyd one. BUILD a new damn so that the otherone wouldnt of gone bust?

oh god NO terrain do you understand what is wrong with it? or u just assume the whoile state goverment is full of gimps and they just decided to let the city rott?

::claps:: well ing said Mario!

thank you...I couldn't have made a better point!

the superdome wasn't even reliable...the was falling apart during the storm...it wouldn't have been able to hold the entire population of New Orleans...& more than half of those people had no money to go elsewhere...Local governments are supposed to ask help of the federal governmen if they see they can't do anything else. and guess what?? the federal government is supposed to help.

ok.. people couldn;t find a way out. so what was the president supposed to do ? u can't blame him for the ppl that stayed. there is too many ppl in NO for that.

he isn't a super hero. not everyone can be saved when a disaster like this occurs.

Sad but true.

edit: i'd also like to add...they aren't going to send the president RIGHT over. They need to make sure it is safe for him to go. Water is contaminated and who knows about the power line situations. They aren't going to send him over in harms way.

Guys, its not Bush's responsiblity to make people leave who dont want to leave, or can't leave.
