ok.. people couldn;t find a way out. so what was the president supposed to do ? u can't blame him for the ppl that stayed. there is too many ppl in NO for that.

he isn't a super hero. not everyone can be saved when a disaster like this occurs.

Sad but true.

edit: i'd also like to add...they aren't going to send the president RIGHT over. They need to make sure it is safe for him to go. Water is contaminated and who knows about the power line situations. They aren't going to send him over in harms way.
im not blaming the president for them not being able to get out. as this is an accident.
i blame the president and not only them but congress for not having a plan before hand for what happened. remember this storm was last week. untill now they got a huge convoy of food to poeple. TODAY thats a whiles away from when the storm hit.

second for the president to be over... plz that is nothing more than a show. for him to say a couple of words and shake some hands on tv? i could care less if hes taking a 24/7 this past week as long as decisions are being made

he doesnt need to be over there.

mario.. don't u think they are doing all they can?

it's kind of hard to do things when u can't even drive there..

they aren't miss cleo either... can't predict the future. so what would have been your before hand plan?

You're right. He doesnt need to. Some may believe he's there for political reasons. Who knows. It's not like he can be re-elected.

Dude.. they had a week to prepare for it. They knew a CAT 3+ was headed their way.. and Louisana did NOTHING about it. There were people still in the last hour in the French Quarter drinking hurricanes because they did not think they were going to get hit. That is the LOCAL AUTHORITIES FAULT.

If people couldnt afford to leave town... then they had a LAST RESORT shelter called the Superdome.. so thats no excuse.

i kind of agree with this. they made it clear that they werent going to be able to send ambulances or send help at a certain point, if people chose to stay in their homes. so if they couldnt afford to get out of the city, why DIDNT they go to the superdome, where they knew there would be food and concrete walls around them, and medical help standing by? there are a lot of people who DIDNT listen to the warnings. who signed consents that they were CHOOSING to stay in the city, in their homes. i just dont understand how that is the governemnt's fault. people ignored a mandatory evac.
